Role Description:
Act as in-house counsel and provide legal support and services to EF Adult Training and Language Travel businesses operating in China. The Legal Counsel will be based in Shanghai and report to the China Legal Manager.
Core Responsibilities:
- Negotiate, draft and review contracts and other legal documents
- Direct resolution of labor, contract and other disputes
- Responsible for all kinds of daily legal affairs of specific Product Line(s), including but not limited in consultancy, contracts, advise, tackle legal dispute and issues, legal training
- Monitor laws and regulations in relation to our business, interpretate and analysis the legal requirements, and proactively advise business teams for implementation.

Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in law. Master degree (LLM) and/or study abroad a plus
- 3-5 years experience in legal department of multinational company and/or law firm
- Solid knowledge of Chinese laws in civil and commercial areas, e.g. company law, civil code, labor related laws etc. Solid knowledge and experience in personal information protection areas shall be preferred.
- Experience in business development and arrangements, e.g. lease contracts, B2B cooperation contracts, company maintenance, employment issues, litigation and/or arbitration, employment issues
- Solid skills and experienced in drafting/updating legal documents
- Superior legal and analytic skills and judgment skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Meticulous, close attention to details and culture of working with facts
- Ability to handle and prioritize conflicting matters expeditiously
- Self-motivated, proactive, ability to work independently, under pressure with commitment to tasks
- A good team player with strong sense of responsibility
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading and writing)
