Summary:
The role will be responsible for providing Procurement leadership and expertise to drive key business needs that will deliver a competitive advantage to Ipsen. Leadership, collaboration, proactivity and influencing are key. The role will partner with many internal business & procurement stakeholders, suppliers and service providers to plan, define and execute different requirements for the region. The role will lead, design, build, communicate and support implementation of Global Category Strategies in Region. The role will also collaborate with the rest of the Global Procurement Organization (Global Category Leaders, Procurement Business Partners and the Procurement Centre of Excellence) to ensure dialogue and regional business requirements are well captured, ensure category strategies are appropriately implemented across the organization and to ultimately deliver added value to the business. The role will be accountable for a region/ cluster within Ipsen. The role has an approximate external spend scope of up to €70M. The role has close collaboration with the China and APAC Finance Directors and General Managers.
Main responsibilities:
- Proactively drive procurement activities and opportunities in China and the APAC markets through active business partnering with stakeholders, including active participation to site LTs. Also engage frequently with the respective Finance Director and team.
- Prepare and execute negotiations achieving best Total Cost of Ownership contracts and beneficial commercial agreements with suppliers.
- Identify new opportunities, ideas and improvements by understanding market opportunities, external trends, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and risk analysis.
- In alignment with Business and Global Category Procurement objectives, take ownership to define and implement procurement business enablers e.g. Supplier consolidation, efficient buying approach (Guided Buying, P-Cards), eRFPs, eAuctions, Cash/ DPO, Supplier Diversity, Sustainability, Supplier Categorisation and more.
- Excellence in collaborating & sharing best practice with Global Procurement Community.
- Translate and execute Global category management strategies into local objectives and strategy.
- Challenge and bring opportunities to key stakeholders and other business stakeholders as a key behavior of business partnering.
- Understand all strategic directions and global priorities for procurement and be an ambassador for them in their cluster/country, whether direct or indirectly related. When relevant own the implementation of those global strategies
- Be accountable for developing ideas/ opportunities and delivering regional KPIs including the local savings/efficiencies pipeline as well as reporting and monitoring proactively.
- Equally capable and willing to deliver strategic initiatives as well as administrative tasks.
- Manage or support contractual or business litigations for sites.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and translate complex data into clear, actionable insights to support sound decision-making and effectively guide business stakeholders
- Maintain the highest-level code of conduct and ethics.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor/master’s degree in management with a specialization in Procurement is ideal.
- Strong Procurement experience with a strong background within Pharma plus experience in strategic and operational procurement experience in a matrix environment.
- A self-starter with proven success in delivering competitive advantage to the business that they have initiated and in driving projects in a standalone manner.
- Proven ability and experience to influence, challenge and instigate business change.
- Solid working knowledge of category management including the development of category strategies with cross-functional project teams.
- Excellent business acumen and able to translate raw data into interesting insights in order to make and influence smart business decisions.
- Experience in negotiation in cross functional and cross market teams including eRFPs and eAuctions.
- Proven capability in negotiation, conflict resolution and stakeholder management.
- Demonstrated successful use of risk management and supplier relationship management (SRM).
- Outstanding communication and project management capabilities.
- Skilled and experienced in project and risk management.
- Expert proficiency in SAP Ariba and MS Office software.
- Language: Fluent in English and Mandarin.
