About Fidelity Dalian
Established in 2007, FIL Technology (Dalian) Limited was the Fidelity’s first wholly owned enterprise in China. The Dalian office initially served as a systems development centre to bolster Fidelity’s growing business in the Asia Pacific region, with a primary focus on providing technology and web-based support and services. The office has continued to expand in recent years and now acts as the central service hub for the Asia Pacific region supporting multiple business functions including systems development and support, systems infrastructure support, retail operations, finance accounting services and investment administration & fund accounting.
Team Description
Digital Product Solution team focuses on developing and managing digital products and services that enhance the customer experience and streamline operations. This team is responsible for designing digital solutions, leveraging technology to improve financial services, and ensuring that products meet the evolving needs of clients and stakeholders. They work collaboratively across various departments to ensure that Fidelity International remains at the forefront of digital transformation in the financial industry. Their efforts typically include product design, user experience optimisation, and the integration of new technologies to drive efficiency and engagement.
About your role
In your role, you will be instrumental in the execution of projects, working closely with the Product Owner to align with the overall business strategy. You will be responsible for planning and communicating project deliverables. Acting as a customer proxy, you will facilitate effective communication between the product owner and programme team, collaborating with third-party partners and suppliers to ensure alignment with project goals. You will lead efforts in requirements planning and management, advocating for the programme and ensuring stakeholder transparency. Your role will involve refining the Product Backlog and User Stories, capturing best practice customer experiences, and mapping business processes for improvement. You will support testing, training, and process re-engineering, ensuring successful implementation and embedding of solutions. Your analytical prowess will be key in producing detailed documentation and delivering presentations to stakeholder groups, ensuring requirements remain current throughout the project lifecycle.

About you
You are a seasoned business analyst with a strong foundation in Agile principles and the Scrum framework. Your expertise in writing User Stories and Acceptance Criteria is complemented by your proficiency in analysis, manipulation, and modelling, making you adept at supporting systems integration planning. Your consultative skills, logical approach to problem-solving, and advanced data analytics capabilities enable you to thrive in demanding environments. You possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, allowing you to convey complex information clearly to stakeholders across all levels. Confident in working with senior management, you are capable of making informed recommendations and operating effectively with limited oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution
- Work closely with the Product Owner to support the overall business strategy
- Provide input into project timelines, estimation, action plans and risk management procedures for effective planning
- Plan, communicate and execute allocated project deliverables and milestones, ensuring progress in time and adherence to quality standards.
- Act as a customer proxy, facilitating open and effective communication between the customer and programme team to ensure mutual understanding.
- Interact and collaborate with third-party partners and suppliers as required, ensuring their contributions align with project goals.
- Prepare detailed data mapping for the development team to support seamless system integration.
- Identify and manage dependencies between tasks, teams and systems to ensure smooth project execution.
Requirements Planning and Management
- Facilitate the creation and prioritisation of the Product Backlog and User Stories to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Advocate for the programme, actively supporting its aims and objectives, and promoting its value to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Business Sponsors to agree on the most effective business and data analysis approach.
- Ensure all stakeholders have a clear and common understanding of what is being delivered, fostering transparency.
- Continually validate requirements and develop a detailed understanding of existing processes to ensure they meet business needs.
- Be proactive in gaining a comprehensive understanding of business requirements and issues.
- Identify and escalate issues and instances where agreed targets or deadlines are at risk or will not be met.
Requirements Analysis and Management
- Facilitate the refinement of the Product Backlog and User Stories to ensure clarity and relevance.
- Select and perform appropriate elicitation techniques to efficiently identify requirements (e.g., Delphi technique).
- Lead customer journey meetings and workshops to capture best practice customer experiences.
- Capture and map target business "As-Is" processes to provide a clear baseline for improvement.
- Input into process re-engineering workshops to derive the "To-Be" state.
- Produce in-depth data maps, models, and analysis of legacy data in preparation for data migration.
- Analyse and document data entity relationships within legacy data sources and associated systems.
- Produce detailed analysis documentation to the required level of depth.
- Deliver presentations or workshop sessions on requirements to stakeholder groups, remotely if needed.
- Regularly review and update requirements, specifications, business processes, estimates, and recommendations to ensure they remain current throughout the project lifecycle.
Embedding (e.g. Testing, Training, Support, Process Re-engineering etc)
- Support the Test function with knowledge that aids test scripting and execution, including handovers and walkthroughs.
- Collaborate with the Test team to define defects and acceptable tolerances within various types of testing.
- Take ownership to ensure staff receive any training required for successful implementation.
Experience and Qualifications Required
Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of Agile principles and the Scrum framework.
- Proficient in writing User Stories and Acceptance Criteria.
- Experience with workspace investments or personal investments is advantageous.
- Extensive experience in data analysis, data manipulation, and data modelling to assist with systems integration planning.
- Significant experience as a business analyst, with a proven track record of successful projects and leadership capabilities; experience in leading teams and managing projects is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques, as well as familiarity with various software and platforms used in business analysis.
Skills
- Excellent requirements analysis and consultative skills, with a logical approach to problem-solving.
- Experienced in data analytics and derivation of data model/entity relationship diagrams and data manipulation.
- Ability to operate effectively with limited oversight.
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex information clearly to stakeholders at all levels, along with strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Advanced problem-solving abilities to tackle complex business challenges and deliver effective solutions.
- Ability to work in a demanding and fast-paced environment with speed and discipline.
- Confident working with senior management across multiple business areas.
- Ability to review proposed solutions and make informed recommendations.
