If you are Engineering and Development Engineer, looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in Xi'an, you will responsible for hardware test cases for E&C products to ensure quality, safety and reliability through collaboration with global teams in the U.S., India, and China. Complete Xi’an non-design engineering tasks to support NPD project delivery.
AS ENGINEERING AND DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER,YOU WILL:
- Conduct hardware test cases for thermostats, HVAC electronic controls and other E&C products to ensure product quality, safety and reliability.
- Understand product applications and test requirements to support hardware development, functional verification, and certification.
- Sustain automated test capabilities in the lab.
- Ensure test consistency by using standardized equipment, methods, environments, and test samples.
- Take ownership of the verification testing, ensuring high-quality execution, valid results, and timely test reports.
- Perform pre-production checks and troubleshooting issues during hardware testing.
- Support lab equipment maintenance and calibration.
- Collect raw data and summarize lessons learned from testing activities.
- Support sustaining activities for E&C products.
- Perform non-engineering tasks to support NPD projects delivery and department operation, such as sample management, data management and fixture management.
- Contribute to building a culture of openness, continuous learning, and ongoing improvement across the entire team.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor, ensuring timely and high-quality execution in alignment with team objectives, while demonstrating flexibility to support shifting priorities and broader organizational goals.
R EQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electronics Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Over 3 years of experience in laboratory testing.
- Demonstrate interest in and a basic understanding of quality principles and continuous improvement practices.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Basic understanding of electronic product development and testing, including microcontrollers, analog and digital circuits, EMI/EMS testing, etc.
- Be familiar with hand tools and power tools, and capable of operating electronic test instruments such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multimeters.
- Strong ability to collaborate in a team-oriented and results-driven environment.
- Proven ability to take ownership of tasks or projects and drive them to completion with minimal supervision.
- Self-motivated and eager to acquire new knowledge and skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills in English.
- Experience working in an electronics laboratory environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with the ISO 17025 laboratory quality system; qualification as an internal auditor is a plus.
- Experience in LabVIEW development is preferred.
