Data Excellence Manager

The primary focus of this role is to drive the development of organization in support of the CV China strategic business objectives. By working closely with the country commercial team, country leadership team, and regional/global commercial operations team, the Data Excellence manager will be taking lead initiatives to optimize data quality, governance, and utilization across the organization. This role is pivotal in driving data-centric decision-making by establishing and maintaining robust data management practices, ensuring data integrity, and fostering a data-driven culture. He/She will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align data strategies with business objectives and enhance overall operational efficiency.

1. Data Governance and Quality Assurance
   1. Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework, including data policies, standards, and procedures.
   2. Define data ownership and accountability across different functions, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities for data management.
   3. Establish process for data quality monitoring, issue identification, and resolution, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
   4. Lead the data quality improvement initiatives, conducting regular data audits and assessments.
   5. Develop and enforce data quality metrics and key performance indicators, and report on data quality status to senior management.
   6. Implement data profiling and cleansing tools and techniques to enhance data quality at the source.
2. Data Strategy
   1. Contribute to the development of the overall data strategy, aligning it with CVC’s business goals and digital transformation initiatives.
   2. Work with stakeholders from Sales, Marketing, Finance, Logistic, Customer Service, Legal and HR, to understand data requirements and translate them into actionable data solutions.
   3. Identify opportunities for data-driven innovation and process optimization and drive the implementation of relevant projects. 
   4. Liaise with external partners, including data vendors and consultants, to evaluate and adopt new data management technologies and services.
3. Driven Decision Support
   1. Conduct in-depth data analysis with advanced statistical methods, data mining techniques, and appropriate analytical tools.
   2. Identify trends, patterns, and relationships within the data to answer business-critical questions and support decision-making processes.
   3. Generate actionable insights from the data analysis, highlighting opportunities for process improvement, revenue growth, cost reduction, etc.
   4. Present complex data analysis results in an understandable format, using visualized tools to facilitate quick comprehension and informed decision-making at all levels of the organization.
4. Undertake ad hoc projects and duties as agreed with line manager.

• Deep knowledge of data governance principles, data quality management techniques, metadata management, project management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data issues and develop effective solutions.
• Open, adaptable, flexible and collaborative style to accommodate business demands. 
• Ability to work in a fast- paced environment and manage changing requirements.
• Strong communicator, with the ability to interface effectively with people at all levels of the organization in country, region and global.
• Must have excellent English and Chinese proficiency, both oral and written.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Intermediate skill in the use of Visio, Salesforce or other CRM platform, analytical and visualization tools such as SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI.

• 8-10 years working experience in data management, data governance, or a related role within a MNC or as a consultant in this specialty.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing data-related projects from initiation to completion.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Technology or equivalent
• Project Management qualification, such as Lean, Six sigma or PMP certified is a plus
