Visual Development Artist

Marcom is the creatively-led global team that oversees Apple’s consumer facing marketing. We ensure the flawless development and execution of world-class communications across all medias and platforms. Every day, hundreds of millions of Apple customers around the world interact with our products. We drive the strategy and creative work that provide both new and existing customers with simple, engaging and inspiring marketing experiences. The Greater China team develops and manages world-class marketing and advertising efforts that support Apple’s rapid growth in this region. This includes all consumer-facing communications across Localization, Advertising, Retail, Partner, Social, Interactive & Digital platforms, as well as support for Video & Motion Graphics. Apple is seeking the best and brightest creatives to join our newly created Visual Development team within Marcom’s creative organization. We are looking for versatile CG artists interested in creating conceptual imagery and motion for the ideation and visualization of Marcom’s marketing communication campaigns in Greater China, while also supporting other geo offices. You will work closely with designers, art directors, creative directors, and production artists to develop bespoke CG artwork and motion for Apple’s marketing campaigns.

Description

You will work under the newly created visual development team within Marcom’s creative organization, handling a variety of conceptual imagery and motion design projects across various media channels. - You will ideate and explore a broad range of creative solutions to express an idea, iterating until you arrive at the best possible solution with speed and precision. - You are expected to precisely execute a design brief while maintaining a flexible setup that allows you to provide additional points of view. You will visually communicate ideas through color, composition, lighting design, and establish 3D scene files for downstream teams to build from. - You will collaborate closely with 2D designers and art directors daily and must possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications

• A portfolio that demonstrates an excellent eye for light, color, composition, form, and design, along with an understanding of practical studio lighting and photographic principles.
• 8+ years of work experience in a CG production environment, or the equivalent background.
• Good written and spoken English skills for effective communication with international team members.
• Mastery of Cinema 4D or an equivalent software package.
• Expert CG Generalist with an emphasis on illustrative design and mastery of 3D visualization.
• Proficient in Photoshop and After Effects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent written and spoken English skills for effective communication with international team members.
• Language ability in Chinese is highly desirable
• Expertise in product lighting and knowledge of Houdini, Maya, V-Ray, and Nuke.
• Ability to execute a multitude of CG illustration styles, from photorealistic to stylized.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, with excellent time management skills
• Outstanding attention to detail, with a passion for craftsmanship and the pursuit of artistic excellence.
• Ability to adapt and learn in a fast-paced environment.
