This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a Technical Project Leader in HUE Connected R&D Hardware with Signify.
We are hiring a Technical Project Leader to help us meet our ambitious growth targets in our Smart Home lighting portfolio.
Job description summary
- You are responsible for the execution of selected R&D projects, in most of the cases contributing to a multi-disciplinary I2M project.
- You define and execute the R&D project plan, in consultation with stakeholders, while leading the R&D resources during project execution.
- You report progress to the I2M project management as well as R&D Management and propose solutions to issues and ask for support if needed.
What you will do
You will lead the technical project team in the development of new Philips Hue smart lighting luminaires and their platform building blocks. Focus is on development of thermo/mechanical/optical designs for luminaires and electronic/RF/LED designs for connected luminaire building blocks. You will work closely with our suppliers to realize these complex products, and travel there at key project milestones.
Your responsibility will be to:
- Gather the technical requirements of a Hue luminaire and define the high level thermo-mechanical-optical concepts to meet those requirements - for a building block projects together with the Product Architect.
- Develop the technical project plan, in complex projects together with the Integral Project Manager;
- Define the technical risks of the project and develop scenarios to overcome these risks;
- Implement and realize the luminaire and/or building block according to the project plan (specification, quality, time, money, information) and organization;
- Report on the progress of the project to stakeholders;
- Take ownership to communicate outside of technical project teams (e.g. industry, quality, and suppliers);
- Ensure that there is an effective transfer and archiving of the project results and the associated knowledge;
- Take the lead in derived product developments, such as sustaining improvement, incremental changes or portfolio extension.
What you’ll need
- You have Bachelor or Master degree in a technical domain, preferably in electronics, optics, mechanics or thermal engineering.
- You have at least 7 years of experience in product creation, from concept to mass production, and at least 2 years as a R&D project manager leading projects in relevant technological areas.
- Experience in both EMS and ODM development models will be an advantage.
- You are an organizational talent and team player, who gets energized by driving engineering teams.
- You have a hands-on mentality and ability to work under stress and ambiguity.
- You are a clear communicator, who can work effectively in an international, multi-site environment.
- It is an advantage is you have experience in LED Lighting or IoT product development.
- It is an advantage to have experience as a product architect.
- You are creative, curious, eager to learn, and you quickly pick up new trends and technologies;
