Your role and responsibilities
Responsible for the design and development of low voltage terminal distribution products, especially surge protective devices (SPD).
The work model for the role is: onsite
This role is contributing to the Smart Building division in China.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Complete new product design and design optimization according to market requirements and project objectives, including but not limited to SPD products. Design the principle and structure of new products and complete verification
- Lead solving problems related to products’ quality and handling manufacturing issues and customer complaints. Identify new technical mega trends through market survey and competitive products analysis and conduct study projects to research and verify new technologies and solutions
- Further understand the design, manufacture, and application of SPDs. Further understand product and application standards related to SPDs; develop product technical requirements and specifications and develop test plans
- Further understand the characteristics, manufacture, and experiments of nonlinear components, such as MOV, GDT, and TVS, and monitor technological breakthroughs in those components. Mentor junior R&D engineers in mechanical design and simulation etc. Create the know-how database of SPDs progressively
Qualifications for the role:
- Bachelor’s degree or above, majoring in electrical, mechanical, automation technology or related
- 5+ years in mechanical design; experience in design and application of low-voltage protective devices is preferable. Proven track record of delivering new product R&D projects
- Expertise in mechanical design principles and proficiency in mechanism design and simulation. Mastery of mechanical design software (i.e. CAD, Creo, etc.) and PLM system
- Familiarity with DFMEA, DoE, and Lean 6-sigma methodologies and tools. Good knowledge of new product development project management
- Good understanding of SPD testing and application standards is a plus
- Ability to communicate in English, both written and oral. Good communication skill
- Highly responsible, self-motivated, and autonomous at work. Good teamwork spirit and willing to contribute to the team’s success. Work well under pressure
