Location: Shenzhen
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Develop and strengthen relationship with government authorities via engaging and influencing with various levels of government personnel, research institutes and thinking tanks which enact and administer laws, regulations and policies. These include stakeholders from the China government, automotive industry, foreign investment, tax and trade bodies
- Organize and coordinate communication activities with government authorities and related organizations
- Manage dispute resolution. Also support to identify and manage external counsel to ensure a timely and cost-efficient advice to be delivered to the business
- Monitor and analyze the changes and updates in government policies and regulation
- Communicate regularly with the management and functional teams on any policy changes, with support in establishing and updating company policies accordingly
- Identify, analyze, and follow up on various government incentive programs. Initiate internal and external communications to ensure the programs are relevant and steps are taken on a timely basis to ensure results
- Ensure compliance of various sites to the regulatory requirement
- Conduct first level feasibility study of potential investment projects
- Manage risks from external and/or internal sources to ensure that the company's interests are protected to the fullest degree
- Support other business needs
Our requirements:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in working with government authorities, related associations or research institutes in China
- Legal education and experience preferred but not a must
- Knowledge of Chinese regulations in Import & Export, taxation, EHS, labor and political policy analytical skills
- Strong fluency in Chinese; proficiency in English will be an added advantage
- High level of communication skills with different levels of government authorities
- Successful track records of placing positive influence and inputs while engaging with government bodies
- High level of integrity with strong ethical standards
- Skilled in negotiation, government relationship building and lobbying
- Demonstrated work history in the automotive industry or industrial automation is preferred
- Capable to assert self-independency together with working diplomatically across various functions and levels within the company matrix
