The Purchasing Lean Leader will provide support and coach within the Supply chain focused on suppliers in the development and sustainment of a Materials Management Strategy (roadmap) aligned with the business targets. Essential Responsibilities:
As the Purchasing Lean Leader you will:
- Develop and execute the lean roadmap for the materials organization, ensuring alignment and synergy between internal materials planning and external suppliers.
- Collaborate with suppliers and buyers to integrate them into the Pull/replenishment systems, fostering seamless supply chain operations and alignment with internal processes.
- Facilitate regular communication and feedback loops between the internal factory and external suppliers to ensure consistent application of lean principles.
- Own supplier priorities for parts on pull and schedule attainment aligned with business targets
- Responsible for continuous improvement plans for materials lean systems including VSMs
- Coach teams from front line to executives on lean materials systems.
- Plan and deliver projects & initiatives aligned to the roadmap
- Accountable for daily management and problem solving to keep team on target
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college or a high school diploma /GED with at least 10 years of experience in Manufacturing.
- Significant experience in lean and/or materials management
Desired Characteristics:
- Proven ability to collaborate with external partners and integrate them into existing systems to enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage relationships with both internal teams and external suppliers
- Change agent with strong credibility and influence in the organization
- Lean Materials experience including but not limited to: standard work, material presentation, supermarkets, flow, pull, waterspider routes, heijunka, and kanban
- Knowledge of the disciplines of manufacturing and inventory management
- Demonstrated commitment for process improvement
- Six Sigma Green / Black belt certification or equivalent quality certification
