Job Description
- Accountable for scrap, efficiency, quality, and rituals to monitor performance and progress on the assigned shift in the production room
- Responsible for all work activities in the production room being conducted in a safe and effective manner
- Directs the work of the production shift team – scheduling work assignments, materials, etc.
- Meet with shift leader daily to discuss production, materials, machine problems, scheduled change over, people needs, etc.
- Work closely together with Maintenance and Technical resources to ensure that issues are being addressed to optimize performance
- Work closely with Scheduling to ensure that equipment, materials and manpower are available as required to meet business needs
- Execution of time management skills to coordinate multiple priorities and direct production staff and production management to discuss production, materials, machine problems,scheduled change over, staffing needs, etc.
- Defines measures and goals for area performance and audits performance to maintain unit at its best demonstrated capability
- Ensure that quality standards are upheld and that any suspect or defective product is reported to the Quality Facilitator to be appropriately destroyed or placed on hold for review and decision
- Meet cost targets through careful attention to the operating supplies, staffing, and overtime levels
- Serves as a leader, mentor and coach for all production resources, treating people fairly and with respect
- Schedules training, performs work audits, completes performance reviews, assists with qualifying decision for all new hires, identifies and encourages personal growth opportunities
- Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Provides technical guidance and hands on assistance when essential to meet business needs
- Partner with Planner to ensure production needs can be met with both manpower and materials
- Partner with Continuous Improvement to drive continuous improvement efforts to engage all employees to make quality products and promote all Kaizen and initiatives to sustain improvements
- Ensure scheduled PM work is completed
- Communicate in a positive and respectful manner to resolve all issues
- Complete all documentation accurately
- Ask for help when the need arises
- Assist in the training of other personnel in proper maintenance, operation and set-up of equipment according to approved company procedures
- Responsible for standard operating procedures.
- Organize production in strict accordance with the hygiene requirements of liquid food packaging enterprises to ensure product health and safety
- Formulate and implement the health knowledge and professional skills training plan of the department
- According to the sanitary requirements of liquid food packaging enterprises, formulate the work guidelines for each position in the department
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree or 5 years equivalent manufacturing leadership experience
- Ability to work on own initiative with a pro-active strategic approach to challenges
- Confident commercial awareness and clear business acumen with attention to detail
- Ability to influence individuals and teams to achieve desired goals and objectives
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
