Primary Purpose Summary
The primary purpose of this role is to lead the end-to-end design and development of Pharma Rx/CHC products tailored for the local market, ensuring alignment with marketing requirements and technical feasibility. This position encompasses responsibility for product conceptualization, industrial and engineering design, patent management, and the adoption of advanced technologies. The role also plays a key part in supplier management, competitive benchmarking, and supporting marketing with innovative, value-added solutions. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration skills, and a proactive mindset to support both innovation and operational excellence.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Based on market demand, responsible for the design of local prescription drugs, consumer healthcare products, and medical devices such as injection pens and smart medical products. Standardize and customize User Requirement Specifications (URS) and Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS); lead concept design; conduct feasibility studies using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), tolerance analysis, and risk assessment; define prototype testing plans and complete design verification for pilot production.
- Lead concept development, engineering design, and drawing control. Responsible for 3D and 2D product drawings, dimensional chain analysis, design risk analysis and control, drawing management, BOM creation, material selection, design verification, and engineering change control processes.
- Manage local patent targets, including identification and management of patents related to pharmaceutical products.
- Conduct research and analysis on the structure and functions of competing products.
- Research and introduce new materials, new processes, and new technologies; manage supplier resources.
- Responsible for applying for advanced technology product development projects.
- Support the marketing team in analyzing market needs and provide value-added product solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Design, Engineering & Industrial Design, or related field.
- Over 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical packaging or medical device product design; curious and proactive with a strong interest in technology and products.
- Able to communicate effectively in English as a working language.
- Proficient in using Creo and SolidWorks; experience in industrial design or CAE is a plus. Candidates with project management experience or successful product commercialization experience are preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to proactively collaborate and solve problems in long-term international cooperation.
- Good time management and cost control skills.
- Willing to travel and capable of solving problems quickly at customer sites.
