- Manages new and existing product packaging development and supports existing packaging improvements to meet company objectives.
oOptimizing packaging as it relates to product, pallet, storage, truck, container and customer requirements. - Administer and maintain the information loaded into the Oracle Item Master for shipping dimensions, item dimensions, cube, weight, truck & container qty, etc.
- Identifies & understands detailed retailer specific packaging requirements and ensures packaging developed meets requirements without exception.
- Consults with corrugate vendors & production factories in the development of packaging to ensure optimal pricing, quality and delivery.
- Reviews, leads and manages product packaging changes, including shipping label specifications and packaging related specifications.
- Creates packaging Work Instructions for finished products. Provides training for appropriate plant personnel performing packaging activities.
- Works direct with key functions such as Product Management, Sales, Product Engineering to design packaging using appropriate software (CAPE Software) for structure analyses and logistics, optimizing packaging as it relates to product, pallet, storage, truck, container and customer requirements.
- Develops and executes packaging testing, internal & external, that spans test methods, validations, and protocols for packaging.
- Support product management group with package development to maintain aesthetic appeal and positive representation of the brands.
- Adheres to the Packaging Development Process – working with all levels of the organization to support strategy and business needs, adjusting process continuously for improvement.
- Adheres to the established internal Packaging Guidelines – to ensure consistency of output between Packaging Engineering USA, China & Logistics.

We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Packaging Engineer based in Shenzhen, China.
This role, you will be involved in leading, providing and administering intensely accurate design of product packaging for new products & product variations to ensure product integrity and appeal under varying shipping and display conditions; Providing product dimensions, shipping dimensions, weights and other essential packaging master data for the website, catalog, Oracle Master Data system; collaborating with multiple factories around the globe in sampling packaging to ensure fit and testing packaging to ensure packaging meets all internal and external specifications.

A suitable background would be a solid experience within Packing Design – as well as the following qualifications and experiences:
- Packaging development experience with high volume consumer products.
- Degree in Packaging Engineering or related technical field.
- Experience with mass retailer packaging requirements.
- Global packaging development experience dealing with offshore factories.
- Structural Packaging testing experience with ISTA.
- Experience with CAPE Packaging software for palletization & truck fill.
