**We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Communications Manager to join our team in Shanghai and play a pivotal role in driving and consolidating L’Oréal’ scientific reputation and leadership in China. **
As a true champion of scientific storytelling, you will be both the architect and the builder of our communications strategy, responsible for:
Strategic Thinking:
Developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy for L’Oréal R&I China, aligning with the global R&I vision and local business objectives.- Serving as a strategic advisor to the R&I leadership team, providing counsel and support on all aspects of communications.
- Identifying and leveraging emerging trends and platforms to nourish & propel the visibility and awareness of L’Oréal’s scientific reputation in China.
- Analyzing the impact of communications initiatives with right KPIs and adjusting strategies and priorities based on the results.
Hands-on Execution:
Crafting compelling content, including press releases, articles, presentations, website copy, social media posts, and other materials that effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.- Designing and executing engaging events, including [thought leadership forums, innovation showcases, lab tours, art & science exhibition, etc.] to bring L’Oréal’s scientific advancements to life and create real impact.
- Partnering with cross-functional teams across media relations, public affairs, and other departments to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging, media strategy, etc..
- Proactively mitigating potential issues and managing crises in collaboration with corporate communication teams, safeguarding L’Oréal’s reputation
- Empowering and engaging the R&I teams by developing and implementing internal communication initiatives to align on the vision, strategic pillars and innovation projects, as well as on the change management journey & key transformations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field. Candidates with overseas experience are highly desirable.
- 10+ years of experience in a communications role, either in-house or agency, ideally with a focus on scientific topics or experience within the cosmetic R&D communications field.
- Proven ability to work effectively, demonstrating exceptional problem-solving skills and a consistent track record of delivering results.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of internal and external business partners.
- Business-level fluency in English (speaking and writing) is essential.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
