Role Summary
Automation Business Analyst plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business functions and the Automation Team. As a Automation Business Analysts, you will support alignment of Business and IT objectives, identify opportunities for process advancement leveraging technology, support creation of business capability and technology projects, translate business capabilities into functional requirements, and work with business stakeholders and IT Delivery teams to develop, test, and deploy solutions.
You will also have to be involved in process mapping, process mining, project scoping, user testing, documentation, production analysis, project management, continuous improvement whilst working in Agile environment and support alignment of Business and IT objectives.
Responsibilities & Expectations
Business and IT Alignment
- Help the Automation Delivery Lead, APAC to discover and scope business processes suitable for Intelligent Automation
- Promote next generation of Intelligent Automation technology, such as AI, Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to discover more project opportunities in these areas
- Analyze production reports, exceptions and completed transactions to define, scope and design change requests which will improve the overall success rate of the solution in production. Support alignment of strategic and tactical business objectives with corresponding IT objectives, partnered with business stakeholders and enterprise IT colleagues
- Provide insights and thought leadership on industry/functional trends and best practices to guide business priorities, customer and employee experience advancements, and technology decisions
- Identify opportunities for process advancement leveraging technology
- Conduct discovery and document business functions, processes, and enabling technologies
- Ability to understand and describe new IT technologies to the business teams
Solution Delivery
- Translate business requirements into use cases and user stories, considering financial, resource, and technological dependencies
- Shape initial requests, provide high-level estimates of effort and cost, going through EDM process, etc.
Collaborate cross-functional global IT teams to deliver IT solution to business in a dynamic global environment
- Translate business capabilities and process designs into functional requirements and/or user stories and work with business stakeholders to review and secure sign-off/agreement on requirements/stories
- Work with business stakeholders and IT colleagues to develop, test, and deploy solutions that meet business capability needs and ensure successful achievement of scope, cost, schedule, quality, adoption, and value outcomes
- Provide expertise and input into solution testing scenarios and lead User Acceptance Testing
- Lead development of solution training material and execution of change management activities
- Responsible for overall project success: on schedule, within budget and with high quality
- Take lead of existing applications enhancement, incident and problem management
- Understand the complexity level of business process (standardization and limited transformation before automation, unlimited types of applications involved in process – ability to scope) and transformation ideas
- Good understanding of IT Change Management
- Experience working with IT Developers or Business SMEs
- Good experience in project documentation (PDD, HLD, SDD, SOW, Cost Model, etc.)
- Process design documentation experience using flow charts or BPMN. Map business process flows, including all critical data elements (e.g. supplier, input, output etc.)
- Understand which data influence the choice of happy path, scope of project, AHT and scheduling
- Understand which data are needed for the business to make the right decision regarding solution proposed
- Propose automation/robot schedule with minimum idle time based on data driven approach and business SLAs
What we look for
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, MIS or related majors is required
- A minimum of 10 years of practical work experience in IT is required
- 3 years or more business analysis experience is required
- Excellent written and oral English skills is required
- Good mix of technical/IT consulting and business background is preferred
- Experience in sizeable multinational corporations is preferred
- Good knowledge of data analysis and reporting and experience with each type of project, ability to propose workaround for handling each type of project
- Experience in process optimization and standardization
- Any RPA tool, Microsoft Cognitive Services, Project Management, Agile or Scrum certification will be advantage
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery efforts
- Support utilization of IT-internal governance processes
- Basic concept UiPath, Blue Prism, any BPM tool will be advantage
- Concept about process scheduling and server utilization.
- Can work independently under stress and ability to lead a small team from cross functions in the organization
- Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills
- Experience on leading business process re-engineering projects leveraging lean-six sigma or recognized process simplification methodology
Knowledge in business process and IT application with experience of leading a team through detailed process development, planning, reporting and tracking, especially managing user's expectations
- Knowledge and experience partnering with both business stakeholders and IT professionals
- Positive, collaborative and solution-oriented attitude
Training
