About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Shenzhen within the Food & Beverage Division in Shenzhen, the Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for managing all outlets’ operations and colleagues as a daily basis. As a department head, directs and works with the food and beverage management team and associates to successfully execute all restaurant operations; strives to continually improve guests and colleagues’ satisfaction and maximize the financial performance in areas of responsibility. The Director of Food & Beverage reports to the General Manager & Area Vice President, Operations.
As Director of Food & Beverage, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Ensure compliance with all food & beverage policies, standards and procedures by training, supervising, follow-up and hands-on management.
- Maintains service and sanitation standards in restaurant, bar/lounge and room service areas.
- Communicate with kitchen for any guests’ special request and dietary requirements
- Works with the ADFB, Executive Chef and Restaurant Managers to develop promotions, food and wine pairings, menu items and presentations.
- To wish each and every guest a warm farewell and thank them for coming
- Successfully integrates objectives, opportunities and resources to achieve business goals.
- Understands and communicates to staff the operating and maintenance procedures of all departmental equipment.
- Conducts hourly associate performance appraisals according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Utilizes the Labor Management System to effectively schedule to business demands and for tracking associate time and attendance. Monitors and manages the payroll function.
As Director of Food & Beverage, we expect from you:
- Minimum 3 year’s relevant working experience in a sizeable luxury hotel
- Excellent communication inluencing and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in both written and spoken English and Mandarin
