Roles and Responsibilities
- Procure raw materials (e.g., resins, fiberglass, core materials), spare parts, tools, MRO supplies, and capex equipment (e.g., molds, machinery) aligned with production schedules.
- Qualify, evaluate, and manage local suppliers; negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to optimize TCO (Total Cost of Ownership). Build strong relationships and conduct regular performance reviews (SQDC and Service/Sustainability).
- Issue and manage purchase orders accurately and timely within SAP (or relevant ERP system), ensuring alignment with MRP requirements and production schedules, ensuring accuracy in specifications, quantities, delivery timelines, and Incoterms, etc.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives through competitive bidding, value engineering, and supply chain optimization.
- Ensure procurement activities adhere to company process, compliance policy and WI standard, and EHS regulations.
- Collaborate with warehouse/planning teams to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize production disruptions.
- Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks (supply disruption, OTD delays, technical clarification, logistics factors, etc) and build contingency backup plans.
- Cross-functional Collaboration, daily work with Engineering, Production, Quality, Planning, Finance teams to resolve material issues and support new product introductions (NPI).
- Track KPIs (DOI, cost savings, inventory, supplier performance) and report to management.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness within the procurement function.
- Any other special task assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- For roles outside of the USA- This role requires basic experience in the Sourcing & Buying-Procurement. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
- For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
Desired Characteristics
Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
