Job Description Summary
This position aims to build up Elementis' technical capabilities in the automotive coatings area, particularly in automotive OEM coatings. The role provides technical support to facilitate Elementis products entering the automotive coatings market and achieve business growth. Test and evaluate Elementis' resins and additives products in laboratory in automotive coating applications. Assist customers with the use of Elementis products in their systems as well as solving their technical issues with experience as well as the work in the laboratory.
Job Description
1. Implement the experiment work to response the request of Sales team to solve the customer technical issue by evaluating Elementis products in customer systems.
2. Test and evaluate the new launched products (usually need to compare with the competitive grades from the market) in the standard or customized automotive coatings formulations to find out the value proposition of our new products.
3. Assist in approving the new raw materials or second source material by evaluating the samples from either synthesis lab or production in the standard formulations.
4. Assist in qualifying the transferred products by evaluating the samples from production sites in the standard formulations.
5. Investigate the internal quality issue or customer quality complaint for our products by conducting testing in standard or customer formulations.
6. Cooperate with Technical Sales team to establish Elementis competence in automotive coatings in Asia by contributing knowledge and experience in terms
of related technology, formulation, application, raw materials, testing, etc.
7. Responsible for the safety operation of the Automotive Coatings lab as well as equipment maintenance and chemical management.
Additional Job Description
Education: Bachelor degree or above, major in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Polymer Science or related
Experience: 7+ years of formulation development experience in automotive coatings
IT Skills: skilled in Microsoft Office
Language Skills: Reading and written in English
Working arrangements: 40 hours per week. Occasionally overtime working or attending some evening meetings.
Traveling required: 10% of travel required.
