Essential ResponsibilitiesLead the design and architecture of scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms across cloud and hybrid environments.Define best practices and architectural standards for data ingestion, transformation, and storage.Partner with engineering teams to guide implementation of architecture strategies and provide technical direction on complex problems.Write production-grade code to build data pipelines, orchestration frameworks, and analytics applications.Optimize data workflows and system performance; establish and maintain observability and reliability metrics.Serve as the technical authority and mentor for data engineers and developers, performing code reviews and architecture validations.Collaborate with business and product stakeholders to align system designs with business objectives and data governance requirements.Contribute to DevOps efforts, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices.Maintain technical documentation to ensure alignment and continuity across teams. Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.At least 8 to 10 years of overall experience in software/data engineering, with at least 3 years in an architecture role.Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, or Java.Proven hands-on experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, AWS Glue, or similar).Expertise in designing microservices, serverless architectures, and event-driven systems using AWS services like Lambda, SQS, SNS, S3, and DynamoDB.Deep knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including performance tuning and modeling.Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or equivalent tools.Strong understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks, and compliance requirements.Ability to break down complex technical topics to guide both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential. Preferred QualificationsAdvanced knowledge of Snowflake architecture, including Streams, Tasks, and materialized views.Background in data analytics, machine learning workflows, or real-time data processing.Familiarity with DevOps tools and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation).Experience with e-commerce platforms or marketplace data integration is a plus.SRE/observability knowledge (e.g., monitoring, alerting, incident response) is a strong advantage.Experience leading or mentoring distributed teams across geography.
