As the Senior Accounting & Reporting (A&R) Accountant, you are part of the Finance Team that supports the shared service finance operation in the Asia Pacific Region.
About You
We’re recruiting a Senior Accounting & Reporting (A&R) Accountant reporting to the A&R Manager based in Shanghai.
You play a key part in ensuring accurate financial records, providing comprehensive knowledge of accounting best practices and supporting junior team members. Responsible for process and system construction to drive process optimisation, in managing the daily activities of the P2P/GL team, including analysis and helping with decision-making.
The role will also establish appropriate risk management and control mechanisms and lead and grow the team effectively as part of the wider APAC organization.

What You’ll Be Doing
1. Financial Process Management
- Lead the optimisation and improvement of general ledger and payment accounting processes to ensure the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
- Develop and update financial systems and operation manuals, standardise financial work processes, and enhance the overall operational efficiency of the department.
2. General Ledger Management
- Be responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, complete the accounting treatment and reconciliation of the general ledger to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data.
- Prepare and review financial statements, conduct in-depth analysis of financial data, and provide valuable financial decision-making suggestions for management.
- Coordinate internal and external audit work, ensure the smooth progress of the audit process, and promptly address issues identified during the audit.
3. Payment Accounting Management
- Supervise payment accounting work, review payment applications to ensure the accuracy and compliance of payments and prevent financial risks.
- Manage accounts payable, track payment status, optimise the cash payment plan, and arrange funds reasonably to ensure the stability of the company's cash flow.
- Reconcile with suppliers/ intercompany regularly, resolve account differences, and maintain good supplier relationships.
4. Team Management
- Guide, train, and supervise the work of team members, and improve the overall business capabilities and professional qualities of the team.
- Allocate work tasks reasonably, clarify the responsibilities of team members, conduct performance evaluations regularly, and motivate team members to achieve work goals.
5. Cross-departmental Collaboration: Maintain close communication with departments such as commercial, customer services, and legal, resolve account disputes and credit issues in business operations, promote the integration of business and finance, and drive the sound development of the company's business.
6. System Optimisation: Lead in finance transformation projects, put forward optimisation suggestions for the accounts receivable and credit modules, improve the degree of system automation and data accuracy, i.e. e-banking, auto-billing, and enhance the user-friendly experience.

This role is assigned to operate in Shanghai, Xuhui district
What You’ll have
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; may be working towards a professional qualification.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting & Reporting processes, with full knowledge of methodologies, processes, practices, and atypical issues within accounting and financial reporting.
- Experience in a shared service centre is a plus.
- Experience leading a team.
- Largely able to operate independently, though may seek guidance on atypical or complex accounting-related issues. Able to coach juniors on technical and operational matters in a specialism.
- Accountable for own targets and reviewing the work of juniors.
- Frequently conducts detailed analysis and investigation to identify customised solutions for Accounting & Reporting problems or needs, determine best options, or suggest improvements to existing methods.
- This role involves initiating communication with cross-functional teams to address and resolve shared issues, collaborate on processes, and interpret or clarify technical information to enhance understanding.
