Job Description: The field-based Procurement Specialist identifies and onboards suppliers, negotiates terms, and ensures timely delivery. They mitigate risks, maintain records, and ensure policy compliance while aligning procurement with operational needs. Additionally, they visit vendors, conduct audits, and foster supplier relationships to uphold quality standards and enhance procurement effectiveness.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers to secure favorable terms and prices. Capable of analyzing proposals, understanding market trends, and making data-driven decisions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey information and interact with vendors and team members.
- Ability to identify issues in the procurement process and quickly find effective solutions.
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and maintain attention to detail.
- Understanding of cost analysis, budgeting, and financial management to assess procurement proposals against financial constraints and objectives.
- Proficiency with procurement software and tools, such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and database management.
- Skills in building and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers and internal stake- holders.
