About Lifecycle Solutions

Johnson Controls’ “Lifecycle Solution” focuses on triangulation of Customer Voice, Field input and competitive landscape to help create/collaborate with market leading products and Solutions that would deliver an improved facility operation in terms of energy and Asset performance. Lifecycle solutions team in Johnson controls, works with field sales & Global products engineering and product management to define short and long terms product strategy. They monitor JCI product performance in the operating market, closely collaborate/ co-innovate with third party OEM/partners and enable field sales, engineering, execution, and service teams, as appliable. This team works across the domains of HVAC, Controls, Fire, Security, Network/ICT, as well as other Digital analytic platforms & AI. With Customer Needs and Use cases as Pole star, Lifecycle solutions team helps defining solution offerings through a blend of right products and domains to meet/exceed these needs. The team ensure end-to-end delivery of a solution through a customer proposal, its implementation and service/ retrofit across the lifecycle.

What you will do

You will be responsible for co-innovation and product development/ engineering with leading OEMs across buildings domains (HVAC, Controls, Fire, Security, Digital) to support the growth of the organization's product/ offering portfolio, primarily in Asia-Pacific. Work in deep collaboration with respective lifecycle solution regional domain leaders, in this role, you will have an end-to-end responsibility of working on a consolidated product & parts gaps/needs across different domains in APAC markets, identify suitable OEMS, create business case for co-development, co-develop as applicable and follow through product introduction and adoption. With faster time to market with differentiated value proposition as the pole star, you will work collaboratively on a day-to-day basis with multiple stakeholders namely, Lifecycle domain leaders, Field Sales domain SPOCs, Procurement, Legal and market GMs. You will do this through technical interaction/workshops with internal teams and OEMs. It is expected that the products n parts developed/introduced to the different markets through this initiative will compliment JCI offerings and solutions and does not create an overlap and/or conflict with existing set of available products and solutions. In this process, you will also work with Strategy teams for a potential M&A activity. Strong program management skills with a mindset of innovation and technical orientation are key to success of this position.

Key Areas

Lead the OEM product engineering for Asia Pacific in creating and delivering compelling/winning solutions with a forward-looking lens. Collaborate with the domain leaders, procurement, sales team, and commercial teams to identify new business opportunities and provide strategic input on sales strategies. Create an ecosystem of third-party OEM/ vendors across different solution components/ equipment. Co-innovate as needed with a view of “Cost-to-serve.” “Time-to-market” as well as leadership position in product innovation. Actively participate in the LRP (Long-range planning) process to understand JCI’s “Global products” product strategy and accordingly ensure leading actions with partner OEMs in setting up market trend. Together with procurement, create an ecosystem of OEM partners, build, and maintain relationships. Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure that the organization's solutions remain relevant and competitive. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the organization's overall multi-domain solutions portfolio and its capabilities.

What we look for

Experience to product management, engineering in a captive and/or partner ecosystem environment. Exposure to supply chain management is a plus. Strong program management skills with ability to facilitate innovation. Understanding of Built environment, systems around it and its dynamics across verticals 12-15+ years of experience in a large ‘solution delivery’ organization having strong product line through its own engineering/manufacturing and 3rd party vendor ecosystem. Exposure to a building environment/ system is preferred. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to non-technical audiences. Strong interpersonal effectiveness and demonstrated ability to work in a highly matrixed environment. Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Exposure/ Working experience with HVAC OEM is a plus. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Y-O-Y business ($ & no of units) growth for domains (HVAC/controls/Fire/Security, as appliable) Effective address of product gaps (measured through opportunities lost due to lack of product and solution) Time to market / cycle time of products/parts delivered through the 3rd party channel. No of IPs (Patent/ Invention disclosures/ copyright/ trademarks) created.
