Your Role:
Responsible for overall environment, health & safety management of site. Keeping the site management team up to date on EHS developments (both regulatory and otherwise), highlighting non-conformances to established rules, standards and best practice procedures on site, establish and ensure site specific EHS targets and goals (in line with corporate goals) well executed & achieved.
- Establish EHS management system and plan according to EHS corporate and site goals
- To ensure all regulations, laws, supplementary regulations and official conditions stipulated in the approval licenses are explained to site management and all necessary activities to achieve full compliance are executed as per agreement with the site director
- Responsible for EHS risk management, assess risks and hazards to employees, the public and the environment, implement appropriate operational controls, report EHS progress and performance
- To document, evaluate and investigate accidents, incidents, occupational illnesses, near-miss incidents and hazardous conditions and plan appropriate corrective and preventive actions
- To provide EHS training to all employees as per their specific requirements and in accordance with the specific hazards and risks associated with different work activities
- Conduct EHS review and audit, work closely with global EHS expert and meet project zero injury & incident target
- To work towards continuous EHS performance improvement for Wuxi plant
- Lead conducting internal audits and different level inspections (e.g. EHS, ISO 14001, etc.), establish corrective action plans for all identified findings and track all open items to closure
- Support plant-wide strategic plan programs and activities.
- Be in charge of site sustainability management to achieve YOY improvement target including waste, water and energy reduction
- Be responsible for site permit and License Register Management to ensure no impact for site normal operations
- To ensure fully compliance with corporate and local authority requirement no matter for products safety, environment, license or other aspects during new products transferring in
- To be responsible for site all security related management including third party guard management, access control system, visitor safety management, etc.
- Focus on more capable EHS team built up, development and engagement improvement, meanwhile engage and leverage EHS committee team to dedicate their efforts for continuously site EHS culture & performance improvement
- Be responsible for risk assessment of Products especially for Bio-safety assessment of returned Single Use bags from customer complaint
- Other assigned tasks which are required by site leader
Who You Are:
- Requires a B.S. or equivalent, preferably in safety engineering, Environment Engineering related disciplines,10 years or above experience in EHS management experience.
- Abundant hands on EHS management experience in capital project and plant routine operation.
- Rich experience and knowledge of chemical industrial & Single use, Bio-logical products handling EHS risk analysis, safety culture built up, etc.
- Must be open minded, innovative, self-motivating, have good interpersonal and communication skills ensuring high quality of work.
- Continuous EHS performance improvement mindset & capability such as knowledge of six sigma, lean manufacturing to improve site EHS standard to next level
- Leadership capability to be in charge of mid-size site (around 200FTE) EHS management with several subordinates to ensure both Chemical & Single Use process and products under full compliance & safety operations
- Needs broad knowledge (e.g. Construction & Design, Law & Legislation, Fire Protection / Prevention, Occupational Health & Safety, Production, Security, Site Management, Transport & Warehouse Safety, Waste Management to continuously improve the site’s EHS performance
- Fluent in English both of verbal and written
- National Safety Engineer certified
