We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.
Business: CIB CLS Tech
Principal responsibilities
- Understand the GTS area and be conversant with and contribute to the strategy for the GTS business within HSBC.
- Management and delivery of all design/architecture artefacts of all deliverables.
- Review all new requirements and ensure apt non-functional requirements are defined as part of the requirement definitions.
- Proactively manage issues to a successful conclusion, following up as necessary
- Ensure all projects are delivered to high, production ready, standard with full involvement from various peers.
- Occasionally, review the technical solutions/designs submitted by the vendor team(s) to ensure that the solution is designed for high availability, high scalability and easier maintenance.
Team
- Guide/Mentor the team members on technology choices, coding/design standards, build and deployment procedures, software release management. Define effective standards in these departments and followed by all team members.
- Liaise closely with other team members (globally) to achieve business goals and project delivery.
- Ensure that all deliveries/projects have clearly defined and agreed non-functional requirements and supportability requirements
- Liaise with wider teams to explore the possibility of re-use of available tools/designs/application components as required
Control
Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which you are involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
Maintain HSBC Internal Control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with your role and act in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.
- Experience of working in a banking environment and dealing with global stakeholders across multiple functions (IT, Operations and Client Implementation teams) with exposure to both front and back office flows.
- Track record in Designing/Architecting highly scalable, supportable applications. Understanding of overall IT infrastructure stack. Robust design skills. Good understanding of Design Patterns.
- At least 6 years’ experience or above in Java, Spring boot, API, J2EE and Oracle/Postgre, SQL technologies. Strong experience in messaging (JMS, MQ), Linux shell script, python technology.
- Experiences with Agile/DevOps approach, practices and tooling (e.g. JIRA, RTC, Ansible, G3, Jenkins, etc.) Ability to deliver incremental re-usable features as part of the agreed business projects.
- Excellent knowledge of full life cycle project management and programme delivery processes, including the management of risks and issues. Strong risk awareness – identification, mitigation and control. Significant experience of global change management/development
- Strong communication skills. Fluent oral and written English.
