Quality Control ManagerYour role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of motor supplier assessments, drive both corrective and preventive actions based on motor supplier maturity and performance levels. Each day, you will manage operational supplier quality, both on-site and off-site, ensuring the thorough execution of supplier qualification and development processes. You will also showcase your expertise by managing the supplier’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Evaluate, qualify, and develop new suppliers together with sourcing engineer. Ensure new sample approval process will meet requirements. Proficient in the five tools of automobile industry and be able to apply them to practical work.
- Provide technical and process support for new material development, deep understanding of industrial engineering, such as casting, machining, injection molding, assembly and other processes to provide effective guidance to suppliers.
- Meet supplier quality performance target. Strong communication skills with different types of suppliers to promote the overall performance of suppliers. Root cause analysis of nonconformance, follow up and verify the corrective actions. Proficient in the tools of cause investigation, such as PDCA/RCA/8D/DMAIC, etc.
- Monitor supplier quality performance and identify improvement opportunity, continuously improve supplier capability.
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering (industrial, mechanical or similar)
- Minimum 5 years working experience and quality related project promotion experience Engineering or manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Be familiar with the understanding of engineering drawings and explain their requirements correctly
- Excellent communication, cooperation and influencing skills when working with different senior level roles internally and externally with different suppliers
- Adhere to the bottom line and principles of SQE and comply with the requirements from ABB
- Familiar with electrical knowledge or insulation knowledge will be plus
