We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Sr. Quality Manager - Asia
In this role, you will supervise a team of four professionals, PPAP new products throughout the NPD process, develop/qualify/evaluate new and existing suppliers, audit and ensure suppliers are certified to customer requirements, support supplier base transitions, and manage product inspection, product safety, and compliance testing.
Your main responsibilities
Supplier Quality:
- Supervise a team of quality and compliance professionals.
- Develop, audit, and qualify new suppliers according to Igloo’s quality standards and customer requirements. Oversee supplier onboarding process.
- Work closely with the suppliers to ensure they pass third-party audits such as QMS (ISO9001, GMP, etc.), ESG (BSCI, SEDEX, SEMTA, etc.), Supply Chain Security (CTPAT, SCAN, etc.), and Ethics (Codes of Conduct, Ethical Sourcing, HIGGS, etc.).
- Work closely with supply chain and sourcing to manage the supplier scorecard and develop audit plans to manage supplier performance in Asia.
- Responsible for outbound inspections and 3rd party inspections.
- Manage Supplier Corrective Actions (SCARs) and drive improvements in DPPM.
- Provide quality support for supplier base expansions and tooling transitions.
New Product Development:
- Serve as Asia's quality and compliance focal point for new product launches.
- Support New Product Launches and PPAP (production part approval process) the new products throughout the NPD process. Responsible for product approvals and qualifications.
- Advise PD team regarding supplier capabilities, process and product robustness, at product concept, design, and development stages.
- Manage team to develop and conduct tests to evaluate product safety levels and recommend measures to reduce or eliminate product safety hazards.
Product Testing:
- Work closely with product safety and compliance to ensure products meet regulatory requirements and to maintain appropriate certifications via third-party lab testing.
- PFAS, Proposition 65, Toxics in Packaging Act, CPSIA/CPSC, FDA, CFR, EN, REACH, International labeling laws, RoHS, IEC 62133, EMC, FCC, Food Contact Safe, UN38.3, etc.
- Overseas product 3rd party lab testing, product certifications, registrations, and markings, including:
- CE, UL, ETL, CSA, FCC, FDA, NOM, DOE, IECEE, NRCan, etc.
- Ensures testing is performed timely by an accredited lab, and the test report is complete and accurate.
- Provides advice or assistance in ensuring compliance of Federal, State, and local regulations on product safety, regulatory and environmental issues, which may include serving as liaison between the organization and regulatory agencies.
Quality Operations and Others:
- Investigate and determine root causes for product non-conformance issues and major manufacturing process issues.
- Manage team to perform capability studies and provide improvements to inspection methods and gauging for existing and new processes.
- Creates, compiles and distributes reports regarding quality and compliance metrics.
- Compiles data for documentation of test procedures and may prepare reports for presentation to management.
- Oversee, train, and mentor quality team members.
- Other duties as assigned.
A suitable background would be a solid experience within Quality Management – as well as the following qualifications and experiences:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a technical degree)
- Fluent in English (Writing, Listening, and Speaking)
- Ten (10) Years of experience working in manufacturing and a low-cost country strategic souring environment
- Seven (7) Years of Quality Assurance and Control experience;
- Five (5) years of experience in Quality Product Lifecycle Management and NPD process
- Five (5) Years of managerial or supervisory role
- Five (5) Years of Experience of Continual Improvement, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, TQM or JIT
- Five (5) years of experience in Supplier Quality and Supplier Management
- Five (5) ISO 9001, BSCI/SEDEX/SMETA or any ESG experience in auditing and implementing
- Skills in quality tools – FMEA, Control plans, problem-solving, MSA, PPAP, and 8D.
- Excellent training, presentation, and mentoring skills

- Certified Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
