We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Software Engineer.

Principal responsibilities
- Act as software engineer to design and implement IT solutions to meet business users’ requirements.
- Understand overall functional and non-functional requirements, perform/implement unit test /integration test.
- Deliver under agile development methodology, and run all necessary agile ceremony and handle various team activities, such as '- prepare project related documentation and provide support on compliance and audit query.
- Ensure a high-quality standard of deliverables according to HSBC standards and best practices.
- Contribute to deliver future state of architecture solution (e.g. micro-service).
Requirements
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
- A university graduate with degree in computer science or a related discipline.
- 4+ years IT experience in system development with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Solid skill set and development experience in React/React Native or Angular, Java Script, Unix/Linux, GitHub and Maven/Gradle is essential.
- Solid knowledge of Spring framework, hands on development experience on Spring & Spring Boot, Restful API development.
- Experience of DevOps focused environment and Agile Team, and knowledge of DevOps tooling (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Ansible etc.).
- Technical experience in system architecture design will be strong advantage.
- Technical experience in micro service architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Platform will be strong advantage.
- Business knowledge in life insurance domain will be an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills, able to work independently and under pressure against multiple deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and documentation skills.
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated with excellent time management skills and strong initiative.

- Excellent knowledge of their technical environment and will have significant responsibility in setting the way forward in the types of technology they look after. Forward thinking, making the right decisions based on strategy
