Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior QA Officer / QA Supervisor to join our Quality Assurance team. This role is pivotal in implementing and overseeing our supplier management processes, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality management systems, supplier audits, and process optimization.
What You'll Do
Supplier Management:
- Implement the supplier management process, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, including supplier qualification reports, approved supplier lists, and supplier corrective actions.
- Conduct comprehensive on-site supplier audits to evaluate their quality management systems, manufacturing processes, and product compliance as needed.
- Collaborate with the Procurement team and suppliers to establish quality targets, response times, and corrective action plans.
- Provide technical guidance and support to suppliers to help them optimize their processes and meet our quality standards.
- Participate in new product development and pilot trial processes to ensure suppliers are properly qualified before purchasing.
- Occasionally travel to supplier sites as necessary.
Quality Assurance and Control:
- Define material specifications, acceptance criteria, test plans, and control protocols in collaboration with QC and Procurement teams.
- Conduct analysis on material defect data, performance metrics, and test results to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee the management and organization of supplier documents in both Chinese and English.
- Input, update, and ensure the safekeeping of supplier complaint and qualification databases.
- Perform data trending in Excel and track documents from various stakeholders.
- Support onsite work, including communication and arrangement with other departments.
Leadership and Reporting:
- If you were hired as QA supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring QA team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation on QA activities, supplier performance, and compliance status.
Requirements
Who We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Chinese Medicines, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Studies, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Nutrition, or a related discipline. An advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years in a Supplier Management role or a similar Quality Assurance role, candidate with more experience could be considered as QA Supervisor
- At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a chemical laboratory management role is advantageous.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong understanding of quality management systems, statistical process control, and lean manufacturing principles in the context of components and parts.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and root cause analysis skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively partner with internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes for food, injection molding, packaging, and printing is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Fluency in English and Cantonese (both written and spoken).
