Reports To: Senior GL Manager - APAC
We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, detail-oriented and self motivated Senior Accountant to join our dynamic manufacturing company in Shanghai. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Financial Controller by overseeing the general ledger and financial operations, conducting comprehensive financial analysis, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and supporting various accounting functions. This role requires strong background in management accounting with strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, excellent analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with different departments and stakeholders within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and providing financial insights and support to the Financial Controller
- Responsible for all Record to Report month end closing, year end closing activities and reporting for entities in China including but not limited to the journals preparation, intercompany transactions reconciliations, balance sheet review, transaction proposal and processing, process controlling, analysis and reconciliations.
- Maintenance, accounting and management of fixed assets
- Provide support for management of inventory including stock counts
- Preparation of reports & analysis of expenses.
- Provide support for forecasts, budget and 5-year aspirations activities
- Responsible for Cost Centres maintenance.
- Responsible for reporting to the bureau of statistics.
- Recommend, develop, and implement solutions for continuous improvements across various departments and functions.
- Liaise with external auditors.
- Ad-hoc projects or tasks assigned by the line manager.
Skills & Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related majors.
- Post graduate professional qualifications e.g. CPA/CIMA/CMA is essential
- Minimum 10 years working experiences in management accounting for multinational companies within the manufacturing industry
- Knowledge of China GAAP and IFRS accounting standards including Tax Accounting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Fluent in English both verbal and written is required.
- SAP experience is essential.
