Position overview
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an entry level position as a R&D Chemist in our China team. You will be working on innovative amino and phenolic resin products, including synthesis, characterization and the relation with their application performance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct lab-scale synthesis experiments of amino and phenolic resins, monitor and optimize reaction parameters to achieve desired resin properties.
- Support product transfer from lab-scale to pilot scale and provide feasible solutions for manufacturing issues.
- Responsible for contributing to new projects aimed at short term, medium term product development and potentially longer-term innovations in amino and phenolic resins related technology.
- Provide an interface with the academic world on one side (scouting, cooperation), and with the application laboratories of allnex and its customers on the other side, as well as play a general active role in suggesting technology solution within the allnex R&D community.
- Creativity, communication and team-player skills are considered essential for success in this position.
- Take part in and provide solution for solving important process incident.
- Follow allnex SHE policy.
Required skills and experience
- Amino and phenolic resin & paint related experience is preferred.
- Able to combine organic/polymer chemistry core expertise.
- Good working knowledge of amino baking coating and phenolic resin application.
- Actively interested in new developments in the world of academic as well as industrial chemistry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or higher education in organic, polymer chemistry, with affinity for and practical experience on the preparative side.
