About the role
This position is dedicated to advancing the modelling, simulation, and analysis of modern power systems, specifically focusing on
1. Application of AI in Modern Power Systems,
2. Optimisation Technologies for Integrated Energy Systems,
3. Advanced DC Transmission and Flexible DC Technologies,
4. Control and Protection Technologies for Modern Power Systems,
5. Stability Analysis of Power Electronics Dominated System.
This is a full-time, fixed-term role for two years. The candidate has the option to carry out research for up to one year at leading UK Universities in power engineering. During the study at UK Universities, the candidate will have access to research facilities of the Universities and the same level of supervisions from UK supervisors as local Postdoctoral Research Associates.
About you
1. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD (or be close to completion) in Power Engineering, or a related discipline.
2. Generally under the age of 35 (inclusive).
3. Ph.D. degree obtained within the last 3years, or current PhD candidates who have
passed their dissertation defense.
4. Excellent programming skills, simulation skills, a strong publication record, and an ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary environments are essential. Prior experience with AI, modelling and simulation of modern power systems is desirable.
What we offer
1. Annual salary starting from ~£35,000 to ~£41,000 (¥340,000 to ¥400,000). The salary will be paid in Chinese Yuan.
2. Startup research fund of ~£20,000 (¥200,000).
3. Option to carry out research in leading UK Universities in power and engineering for up to one year. During the study at UK Universities, the candidate will have access to research facilities and the same level of supervisions from UK supervisors as local Postdoctoral Research Associates.
4. Children are eligible to enroll in high-quality affiliated kindergartens, primary, and secondary schools.
5. On-campus postdoctoral apartments; if unavailable, a monthly housing allowance will be granted.
