Job Description
The position provides value add by:
1 Travels to and meets on-site with Partner Product Suppliers.
2 Performs audits of suppliers to VDA 6.3, IATF16949, and ISO 9001requirements.
3 Trains/coaches partner product suppliers to meet automotive requirements, including DOE, zero defect mindset, problem solving and root cause analysis (5Y, Fishbone, etc.)
4 Works closely with Purchasing/Planning/Operations to address operational topics with suppliers – on time delivery, adequate capacity, etc.
5 Works closely with partner product suppliers on any quality issues. May be involved issuing corrective action requests. Coaches/assists in their containment, root cause analysis, systemic improvement, and follow up verification, as appropriate.
6 Ensures partner product suppliers have a robust continuous improvement process to drive yield improvements, scrap reduction, error proofing, investigate new failure modes, etc.
7 Makes MRB decisions on Vishay finished product, with input from Divisional Quality & Purchasing as appropriate.
8 Works with Divisional Quality & Engineering to recommend product changes, process changes, PCNs, raw material changes, etc., as needed to improve quality.
9 Provides input to or prepares performance reports.
10 Coordinates periodic business review meetings with suppliers & Divisional Purchasing & Quality.
11 Other duties as required.
Experience and skills requirement:
1 Minimum 10 year of related experience managing quality in the automotive industry.
2 VDA-certified auditor required.
3 IATF 16949 Lead Auditor.
4 Project management experience.
5 Lean manufacturing / six sigma black belt preferred.
6 Excellent communication skills.
7 Excellent English.
8 Statistical process control.
