Key Objectives:
To support Business Unit Senior Director on formulating long-term and short-term marketing strategy and initiating product marketing plans. Launch and promote products in China market. Ensure proper implementation of the set marketing strategies, product life cycle management, product portfolio management, and market share expansion by working closely with the internal and external partners. Be the Chinese eyes and ears for the BU Senior Director from abroad.
Job Scope and Responsibilities:
Develop independently a Strategic Marketing Plan that fully exploits the brand potential in line with company and corporate strategy, including the development of appropriate contingency plans on an ongoing basis.
Manage pricing of the BU products in China, prioritizes use of marketing / promotional resources to effectively achieve marketing goals.
Liaison with headquarters / regional office to ensure upstream and downstream initiatives are fully supported and implemented.
Ownership of certain key marketing activities that will support initiatives across China.
Preparation, execution and tracking of successful new product launches in China.
Represent business unit on cross divisional marketing forums.
Support a more strategic approach to the relevant therapy areas that impact business.
Management of the marketing budget to ensure the best possible return on investment.
Continually assess the impact of the marketing plan to ascertain which need modification and takes action on these to ensure success of the overall plan.
Work closely with the business partners on the area of business development, including business opportunity analysis, merger & acquisition, product OEM, and business model optimization.
Use quantitative and qualitative data and tools or collaborate with Market Research to analyze and understand the marketplace, and to determine strategic and tactical choice that will deliver superior brand performance. Smith & Nephew is an equal opportunity employer
Develop the current customer database to facilitate more sophisticated Key Opinion Leader relationship programs
Comply with internal policies, procedures and related documents, and all external laws and regulations, ensuring these standards are observed in all product planning and execution activities.
Work closely and effectively with sales team to ensure appropriate understanding and implementation of marketing strategies and programs.
Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders. Candidate Qualifications
He/she will have at least 10 – 12 years marketing experience in the multinational Medical Device companies in China, and also at least 5 years in the leadership role in China marketing team.
He/she will have the Bachelor’s degree in Medical Science, Master’s or MBA degree is desirable.
He/she will have proven track records in independently product management, including, strategic planning, budget planning, product launch, and product life cycle management, pricing management, etc.
He/she needs to understand the value chain approach and the proper marketing process applicable to the creation and sustaining of the needs among the surgeons.
He/she will demonstrate a complete understanding of the medical device market and a systematic strategic thinking capability.
He/she will have experience of work successfully and productively in cross functional teams.
He/she will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
He/she will be fluent in English and Mandarin
