Position Responsibilities
- Develops BIM model and drawings for structural engineering components of projects under supervision of senior BIM technologists and Structural Engineers.
- Assists in the organization or processing and distribution of drawings, models or other project deliverables, as required
- Provides CAD drawing as required. Maybe asked to work in AutoCAD or other legacy drawing platforms if required (but not typically).
- Assists engineers in updating and managing data in Revit model and schedules (as well as between external data sources and Revit)
- Assists in developing and implementing firmwide standards relating to BIM workflow and drawing graphic standards.
- Handles workload to meet project task deadlines and commitments with regular interaction and direction from project leaders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrates attention to detail and consistency in model-building and drawing set-up with a graphical style that is clear, consistent and artful.
- Exhibits initiative and a high attention to precision and accuracy at a task specific level.
- Effectively communicates internally through timely and appropriate means.
- Associate Degree or two years of college training or equivalent.
- Experience in BIM systems such as Revit to document structural information for large building projects.
- Understanding of structural engineering concepts and terms.
- Familiarity with structural building systems and details (e.g., reinforced concrete, structural steel, timber).
- Demonstrated abilities and knowledge in Revit Structure.
- Demonstrated abilities and knowledge of CAD systems.
- Knowledge of Tekla Structures, Navisworks, Rhino, Grasshopper, a plus.
- Knowledge of Dynamo scripting inside of Revit is a plus.
