Responsible for providing cargo containers certification to assigned clients, requiring knowledge of ABS Rules for certification of cargo containers. Familiar with the procedures of container certification.
What You Will Do
- Perform the inspection per ABS Rules for certification of cargo containers, International Regulations, and Industry Standards.
- Responsible for cargo containers certification and/or on behalf of owner representative inspection of cargo containers in accordance with ABS Rules for certification of cargo containers, International Regulations, and Industry Standards. Cargo Containers Certification including quality assurance system auditing, material inspection, welding qualification and inspection, in-process inspection, test witness.
- Familiar with the procedures of container certification.
- Answer basic customer questions.
- Interpret data from the inspection and report the results to the senior inspector in charge.
- Promote a culture of safety and safe working conditions.
What You Will Need:
- Basic knowledge of ABS Rules for certification of cargo containers.
- Solid understanding of industry specifications, blueprints, codes and standards.
- Ability to interpret received data and match against set standards.
- Basic communication skills with emphasis on writing technical reports.
- Knowledge of welding technology.
- Knowledge of heavy industry equipment and components such as the test equipment, container components.
- Needs to be familiar with the ABS Surveyor Reporting System, ABS ETQ System, ABS Health & Safety Incident Management (HSIM) System.
- Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.
Minimum years of Experience
An entry level position for new graduates and/or those candidates with less than three (3) years’ experience in an applicable industry
Required/Preferred Education Requirements
Must have a High School diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher level education
