About the Role:
Lundbeck is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Government Affairs to lead advocacy efforts and shape policy environments that ensure optimal outcomes for Lundbeck’s presence in China. This pivotal role focuses on building impactful collaborations with government stakeholders, aligning market access strategies with evolving policies, and mobilizing cross-functional efforts to improve patient access and reimbursement outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advocacy Leadership: Develop and execute advocacy plans to shape favorable policy environments, ensuring timely market access and optimal outcomes for Lundbeck’s pipeline products, including but not limited to NRDL, pricing and reimbursement.
- Strategic Partnerships: Build and nurture collaborations with key government stakeholders, including NHSA and NHC, to ensure Lundbeck’s strategic priorities are reflected in evolving policy frameworks, accelerate market access and broaden patient access to the innovative treatments of Neuro specialty and rare disease.
- Policy Alignment: Align Lundbeck’s market access strategies with government policies to ensure effective and in-time implementation. Proactively monitor and analyze policy, regulatory, and market trends to strengthen Lundbeck’s competitive edge in the healthcare ecosystem and mitigate any potential risks.
- Cross-Functional Mobilization: Lead internal efforts to mobilize cross-functional actions that address policy challenges, improve reimbursement pathways, and enhance patient access across Lundbeck portfolio.
- Advise leadership on integrating engagement strategies with business objectives, securing public sector opportunities and ensuring compliance with regulatory trends.
- Enhance Lundbeck image in public forums and industry dialogues, advancing policies that elevate the company’s influence and reputation in the healthcare landscape.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or above in medicine, pharmacy, public health, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in government affairs, policy, or market access within the pharmaceutical industry, with a proven track record of achieving outcomes such as NRDL inclusion or favorable pricing agreements.
- Demonstrated success in building strategic partnerships with government stakeholders, particularly NHSA and NHC, with direct engagement or prior government experience in healthcare policy preferred.
- Deep understanding of China’s healthcare system and policy environment, with expertise in advancing drug access, pricing, and reimbursement strategies.
- Exceptional communication and advocacy skills, with the ability to influence policymakers and lead stakeholder engagement; fluency in Mandarin and English is required.
- Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills to drive internal alignment and achieve policy-driven business outcomes.
