This position is responsible for supporting and leading the sourcing team to drive and direct the end-to-end sourcing activities of assigned product categories. This position will leverage an Asia based vendor structure to well understand the sourcing needs of US Sourcing and Product Development teams. This role is accountable for supporting the development and management of vendors, as well as maintaining existing vendor relationships and driving projects to ensure that vendors meet or exceed their contractual obligations by delivering innovative, quality products on time. This leader also possesses inspirational and insightful skill sets to build a high performing team.- Provides general oversight of the sourcing operations to execute the strategic plans as provided by the leadership team. This execution includes everything from product development through delivery in required quality standard for driving business growth.
- Build effective partnership with business leaders in US and Hong Kong as well as successfully partnering across various functions with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, agencies and colleagues to drive desired results.
- Act as an effective leader to lead and develop high performing and engaged team in a desired working environment through job related training, constructive coaching, celebrating shared success and effective performance management measures.
- Conduct review and analysis on current process and procedures. Identify opportunities to streamline workflow and enhance operational excellence.
- Keep abreast with the market trend and industrial best practice. Proactively and promptly provide update for the management in response to the market changes.
- Leading sourcing team with product expertise and product life cycle management including product development brief, Request for Proposal, category costing bids, manufacturing and on-time delivery.
- Lead, develop, coach and motivate the local team to ensure full support and smooth execution in the sourcing trip and finalization events for selecting the right and on trend products for end customers.
- Derive and implement effective sourcing initiatives including cost analysis and negotiations by leveraging the company’s purchasing power and maintaining good relationship with new and existing vendors.
- Identify and prioritize new sourcing opportunities to drive cost savings. Hold vendors accountable to performance agreements and determine the right courses of action when performance standards are missed or at risk.
- A Key driver of identification and development of a strong, sustainable vendor base from factories as well as maintaining a relationship with existing vendors to ensure they meet all requirements and drive vendor performance.
- Achieve agreed business targets with respect to profit margins, vendor ethical and technical performance, quality and deliveries.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s Degree holder in Sourcing, Business Management or related discipline
Minimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills
- Proficient with MS Office
Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires
- Minimum 15 years’ experience with at least 7 years in senior leadership role to lead managers and track record of managing a sizeable team
- Solid sourcing and development experience with strong vendor connection in global market
- A seasoned and inspirational leader with experience of managing and developing diversified and multi-disciplinary teams, managing and planning resources to achieve stretching goals in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
