Overview
The Field Application Specialist (FAS) is responsible for providing technical assistance and expertise to the C-Tech product line, sales force and customers related to the laboratory instrumentation it sells and supports. The laboratory technology developed and marketed by C Technologies includes spectroscopy instrumentation, most notably the SoloVPE and FlowVPX variable pathlength UV-Vis spectrophotometer systems. The systems are sold primarily in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry and is commonly used for quantifying concentrations of proteins and antibodies in drug discovery and development, manufacturing, and quality assurance. The FAS will provide support at customer locations, including product testing, demo evaluations, application support, and customer training.
Responsibilities
- Work with new and existing Repligen customers on developing and improving Variable Pathlength Technology / Slope Spectroscopy methods.
- Work in coordination with the Customer Success Group (CSG) to provide pre- and post-sales support to customers for the Repligen Analytical product lines. This will include responding to customer requests for technical support, giving technical seminars, performing product demonstrations, providing on-site/in-lab support, troubleshooting, and assisting with the execution of development and validation services.
- Develop and proactively execute project plans to meet customer needs using the Repligen Analytical systems and Slope Spectroscopy methods.
- Partner closely with sales team to ensure the product marketing strategy plan is integrated with the overall sales strategy.
- Establish and maintain Strategic Key Account relationships by supporting the sales team with account planning and bridging customer functional groups.
- Identifies, nurtures and focuses on key accounts and key opinion leaders to drive innovation and the company solutions into the market
- Provide accurate and timely activity reporting, management of customer projects, and support forecasting reports using CRM, Salesforce.com
- Analyze and deliver information to commercial team on the voice of customers, competition and market trends to develop strategies for product positioning and appropriate product development.
- Perform sample testing on customer samples and in support of product development and sales.
- Train customers in the theory and operation of the SoloVPE System.
- Involve or lead projects and assignments as part of the professional development opportunity.
Qualifications
Education, Training & Experience
- A minimum of a BSc degree in a scientific discipline (biology, biochemistry, or related field)
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in the bio-pharmaceutical or life science industries. (application specialist experience is a plus)
- Technical understanding of biomanufacturing processes and relevant analytical technologies, in particular UV-Vis spectroscopy
- Lab experience in bioanalytical method development and troubleshootings is preferred
- Work experience in a GMP-regulated environment or with GMP customers, especially with regards to formal instrument qualification and analytical method validation is an asset.
