The Role:
The Director of Counseling & New Business (QS Teli) will be responsible for managing key partnerships for the QS Teli business in China with leads channels and the counseling sales activities. The typical leads channels include international schools, language training institutions, financial institutions, etc. Based in Chengdu, this role is central to driving the company’s growth by increasing market presence, executing effective business development strategies, and enhancing sales conversion from leads to client contracts. The Director of General Counseling (QS Teli) will be expected to manage the full lifecycle of business development and sales activities, from identifying opportunities to closing deals and maintaining long-term partnerships.
About QS Teli
QS Teli, a subsidiary company of QS in China, specializes in providing customized study abroad planning and application counselling services for Chinese students pursuing international education. Leveraging extensive knowledge and experience, the QS Teli counselling team assists hundreds of students from international schools and universities annually. We offer end-to-end support, including academic planning, internship and research recommendations, application essay guidance, and visa assistance, through to securing admissions into prestigious undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral programs. Over the past several years, we have successfully guided students to gain admission to top global institutions, including Oxbridge (UK), Ivy League universities (US), and leading universities in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Beyond study-abroad counselling, we are closely engaged in building and managing articulation programs for local Chinese universities. These initiatives create seamless pathways for our local partner institutions’ students to access high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate study opportunities worldwide.
Role responsibilities:
- Channel Development & Maintenance:
Identify and build relationships with key partner channels (international schools, language training institutions, financial institutions, etc.) Establish new partnerships to expand the company’s market reach and influence.

Partnership Management & Business Operations:
Maintain ongoing partnerships with key channel partners, ensuring smooth collaboration and progress in partnership projects. Develop and execute strategic plans to drive successful outcomes.
- Sales Management and Leads Conversion
Manage the sales team aiming to achieve the company business goals. Review leads follow-up activities and sales conversion on a regular basis and ensure rapid and quality responses to inquiries from potential clients.

Post Sales Service Management:
Oversee the case manager’s service delivery, managing the counselling team's performance to expected targets and business outcomes, achieving high quality service level and low client complaint rate. Ensure close cooperation between the sales team and the case manager team
Key skills and experience:
- We welcome candidates with a bachelor’s degree or higher, with international academic experience considered a strong asset. Proficiency in English is required (minimum IELTS 6.5 or equivalent). We’re looking for individuals with a strategic mindset, a sound understanding of the international education sector and proven experience in business development and management.
- Relevant experience in business development, marketing, and sales is essential. Prior experience in the international education sector or in similar roles involving business development and sales management would be an advantage.
