Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated System/Hardware Engineer to join our Shenzhen team and support the development of MPS ultrasound product lines. This role involves designing ultrasound system reference solutions, performing PCB design and modifications, and collaborating closely with the application team to deliver high-performance, manufacturable hardware.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics, PCB design, and system-level integration, with a passion for innovation and precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the MPS ultrasound application team to develop system reference designs
- Support IC bench testing, technical data collection, and hardware debugging
- Author datasheets and application notes for ultrasound products
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers
- Execute PCB layout design including schematic review, component placement, routing, and Gerber file generation
- Create and maintain part libraries based on datasheets and mechanical drawings
- Generate complete PCB design packages including fabrication and assembly documentation
- Configure and maintain Design Rule Checks (DRC) for layout integrity
- Work cross-functionally to ensure PCB designs meet electrical and mechanical requirements
- Conduct feasibility studies through quick-turn placement and routing analysis
- Liaise with PCB and PCBA vendors to resolve DFM and manufacturing issues
- Source components and manage kitting for prototype builds
- Generate and maintain accurate BOMs
- Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in PCB design and hardware development
- Strong communication skills and self-driven work ethic
Required Skills
- Proficiency with lab equipment: Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Digital Load, Signal Generator
- Solid experience in circuit design and debugging
- Familiarity with industry-standard protocols: SPI, I²C, USB, PCIe
- Expertise in Cadence PCB Designer and OrCAD CIS
- Experience designing high-speed (>40 Gbps), low-noise analog, mixed-signal, digital, and power electronics circuits
- Proven track record with high-layer-count PCBs using advanced technologies (e.g., micro vias, stacked micro vias, VIPPO)
- Hands-on experience resolving DFM issues with PCB suppliers and contract manufacturers
- Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset and willingness to challenge the status quo
