We are pleased to be recruiting for a Procurement Head to join our Smart Infrastructure (SI) Building team. This role is crucial for our continued success in delivering cutting-edge building solutions that create comfortable, safe, and efficient environments.

We are looking for a highly motivated and capable professional who will lead strategic procurement activities focused on trading goods, systems, and services for our Building Solution, Service and Sustainability portfolio.
This role is not focused on factory procurement, but rather on ensuring the optimal sourcing and supply of finished products, systems, and related services that are integrated into our customer projects and solutions. You will play a key role in supporting business growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
The Procurement Head will act as the key point of contact for all direct and indirect procurement activities related to our solution, service and sustainability business in SI B. The role will involve working very closely with internal stakeholders, including Sales, Project Execution Team, Commercial Project Manager, and Finance, as well as external suppliers, to ensure compliant, cost-effective, and on-time supply of our solutions' components and services.
This role will report directly to FIN Hed of SI B China. The role holder will be expected to develop strong working relationships across the organization, within the global Siemens procurement network, and with key suppliers.
What are my responsibilities?
- Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies for trading goods, systems, and services within the SI Building portfolio, aligning with business objectives and market trends.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for related categories, from supplier selection and qualification to contract negotiation, and performance management.
- Conduct rigorous market analysis to identify new suppliers, innovative solutions, and cost optimization opportunities within the trading landscape.
- Participate in project/sales meetings as project core team member to exert a shaping influence at an early stage and to optimize internal workflows and processes.
- Establish proper sourcing processes and control all Procurement resources and activities in the project and inform all involved in Procurement to deliver optimum impact of cost-cutting potential (Procurement plan, target-costing) and other Procurement targets and meet requirements relating to deadlines and quality.
- Lead complex negotiations with suppliers to achieve optimal terms, pricing, quality, and delivery performance, ensuring competitive advantage.
- Collaborate closely with Sales and Project Management teams to understand project-specific requirements, demand forecasts, and ensure timely and efficient supply for customer projects.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate procurement risks, including supply chain disruptions, geopolitical factors, and quality issues related to trading items.
- Drive digitalization and process optimization initiatives within trading procurement to enhance efficiency, transparency, and data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure full compliance with Siemens procurement guidelines, policies, and relevant legal and ethical standards.
- Generate, document, and implement savings initiatives (e.g., CNI - Cost Net Impact), and monitor and report on relevant KPIs to contribute to the business's financial success.
- Foster strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
- Derive Procurement strategies in projects on the basis of Division-wide and BU-wide Procurement strategies and ensure their implementation, as well as identify solution approaches and integrate diverse objectives to achieve the project and the strategic Procurement targets.
- Collaborate with SI B LCB HK and Taiwan project procurement team and align with China SCM head on the focus projects.
- As in-country manager for global team of SI CVE (cost value engineer), SQM and GCM in China, lead the service level agreement, participate in regular meetings, closely monitor team performance and communicate with HQ. Lead, coach, and develop a team of procurement professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
What do I need to qualify for the role?
- Strong leadership in supply chain management or business administration areas, high sense of ownership and intrapreneurship
- Profound purchasing experience (typically 5+ years) within a project-based business, or solutions delivery environment.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful procurement strategies that deliver measurable results in a non-manufacturing context.
- Strong expertise in supplier negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
- Deep understanding of supply chain dynamics and risk management in a trading context.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP (SRM, MM modules), SCM digital tools.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of an organization.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced international environment.
- Good command of spoken and written English. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
