We are looking for a dedicated and self-motivated S&E Manager who will be be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and recommending assets and cutting-edge technology platforms that can accelerate and enhance our drug discovery efforts of Sanofi Global Research. You will work closely with local and global cross-functional teams to assess the scientific, technical, and business value of novel assets and technologies, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals in drug discovery and development.  

Key responsibilities

1. Asset and technology Scouting 
  - Independently and proactively search for and identify innovative assets for immunology or neurology diseases, and technology platforms 
  - Monitor scientific literature, conferences, patents, and industry trends to stay ahead of emerging assets or technologies

2. Evaluation and Analysis 
  - Conduct in-depth evaluations of identified assets and technologies, with both scientific and strategic angles  
  - Perform comparative analyses of competing assets or technologies to determine the best fit for our research pipeline

3. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
  - Work closely with internal teams (e.g., research, development, business development, etc) to understand their needs and priorities 
  - Present findings and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner

4. Partnership Development
  - Engage with and maintain relationship with external VCs, startups, incubators and others to explore collaboration opportunities
  - Support negotiations and due diligence processes for research collaboration or partnerships as needed

5. Strategic Planning
  - Contribute to the development of long-term asset or technology adoption strategies for drug discovery
  - Maintain a pipeline of evaluated assets or technologies and track their performance over time 

6. Project Management
  - Systematically track and summarize status of external opportunities, and maintain effective communication internally and externally
  - Ensure timely delivery of evaluation reports and recommendations

Qualifications

• PhD in biological, biomedical, chemistry, or pharmaceutical sciences

• At least 5 years' work experience post degree, and experience in external innovation, business development or investment is highly preferred

• Hands on experience with drug discovery in an industry setting is highly preferred, with ability to co-develop study plan with research team

• Full proficiency in English and Mandarin, and excellent communication skills in a highly multi-disciplinary and culturally diverse environment

• Problem-solving skills and commitment to deliver high-quality results

• Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
