Your Role
Responsible to assure the effective utilization of equipment and materials with an objective of maximizing production output while maintaining safety, quality and cost standards. This hands-on position will support ongoing manufacturing with a strong emphasis on implementing and sustaining lean process improvements, ensuring process capability, and process repeatability. Serves as an internal quality analyst for solving quality issues to ensure consistent high value with the company’s product and installation. Must be flexible to assist with assembly when needed to meet production goals. The position is located at our manufacturing site in Malu, Shanghai. Fluency in English language is required.
ESSENTIAL TASKS & DUTIES:
- Develop, evaluate, implement, improve and document manufacturing equipment, tooling and processes.
- Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing techniques and training on the shop floor.
- Evaluate, rework and reject levels for design, process, and training improvement opportunities.
- Institute process and product improvements resulting in a positive impact on production cycle time, product costs and product quality.
- Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow and design layout of equipment and workspace for optimum efficiency and safety.
- Confer with management, engineering and other team members regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Develop and evaluate equipment and processes to produce a high-quality product at a competitive cost for improvements in current processes
- Facilitate the development of corrective action plans to resolve internal quality or delivery issues.
- Lead, prepare, and train personnel for ISO, ATEX/IECEx, CCC, or any regulatory & customer audits.
- Conduct annual supplier audits, review supplier performance, and take ownership of corrective actions.
- Ensure Quality Management System (QMS) is up to date by routinely reviewing assembly instructions, in-process inspection, and other relevant documentation.
- Provide technical direction, and training for operators performing detailed process steps to ensure that production assemblers, testers, inspectors, and support staff have necessary skills, appropriate documentation, tooling and process control capability.
- Work in assembly cell and performing testing/calibration as needed to support production load.
- Works closely with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, R&D and Marketing in the following functions:
- Lead Continuous Process Improvement activities (Ex: Inhouse & Vendor Scrap reduction).
- Improving the Customer PPM.
- Be in touch with current and future trends in Quality and Process Improvement in industry and adapt as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 2-year Engineer Tech degree in an engineering discipline (Electrical, Electronics, or Industrial Engineering preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5-year experience with manufacturing and/or quality processes.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Demonstrated technical analysis capabilities including process improvement methodologies, quality assurance concepts and systems, etc.
- Demonstrated strong and effective communication skills; written, oral and interpersonal.
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and employ effective time management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven teamwork ability.
- Hands-on experience with maintenance & sustaining Process.
- Proficient computer skills: word, excel, outlook and ERP system.
- Auditor experience is a plus.
Working Conditions:
Manufacturing plant environments, with periodic exposure to noise levels, chemical compounds, and fumes related to electronic/mechanical component assembly.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent sitting and standing and walking. Vision and hearing must meet average standards. May need to lift to 40 lbs.
