Role Purpose
- Establish the quality system of glass, including full sheet, panel, and parts, to (1) prevent quality issues or leakage, and to (2) improve the competitiveness of own products
- Quality communication window with customer and FS plant, driving internal improvement and feedback to customer for quality issues communications.
- Lead to pass customer audit at CM side.
- Lead metrology alignment and bench marking with Corning facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Own CM manufacturing spec deliver to CM side and ensure CM implemented Corning’s requirement.
- Evaluate CM measurement gauge capability, control method and sampling plan.
- Regular shopfloor PCPD to ensure CM’s execution.
- Drive CM day to day quality improvement and incoming material from Corning plant.
- Align measurement and inspection with other CM and Corning own plant.
- Analyze customers’ or internal defects/quality issues to find root causes and provide path to improvement.
- Migrate lesson learn or best practice to our CMs for continuous improvement.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Prefer B.S or higher degree in Engineering or Science
- >5 years’ experience in Corning glass finishing technology development or engineering
- Experience on migrating new technology to improve process yield and quality
- Strong experience on quality architecture establishment and standardization
- Fluent English communication skill including verbal and written.
- Prefer Chinese or Korean language capability as preference.
- Be familiar with Asia operation, particularly the nuances of partnerships with Asia customer and contracted manufacturer.
- Strong logic and good communication skill with CM and customer.
- Be comfortable in interfacing with R&D, Engr & Mfg, CT, and PE organization
- Be comfortable with a flexible work schedule/locations and dynamic travel request, ready to travel immediately as customer needs (Travel > 50% at development stage
