Job Requirements:
- Technical background (B.Sc. in Engineering)
- More than 8 years' experience in marine industry
- Familiar with LNG / LPG Gas carrier, LNG regassification & reliquefication projects, etc.
- Familiar Class rules and regulations for gas carrier
- Good communication skill
- Capable of project planning and controlling
- Fluent written and spoken Chinese & English
Job Responsibilities:
- Report to Local PM leader.
- Reports to the Project PM for the individual projects and All below tasks to be carried out in agreement with the project PM.
- To develop and achieve strong technical and commercial knowhow related to the project and contract
- Proactively follow up and build strong relationship with yards and become the link for communication between the yard and the project offices (Norway, Poland)
- Organise and attend Weekly meeting with customer, identify and clarify needs and priorities from yard
- Follow up on documents and drawings as required by yard and documents issue date in MDR.
- Communicate and discuss with project team if any documents delayed for submission
- Communicate and understand the real needs of the yard so that we have dates in the MDR that are real and communicate with Project the same so that we do not have the situation that yards often ask for something which not being needed at the date they ask.
- Discuss and follow up with yard if project team is waiting for comments or approval from yard for the issued documents.
- Coordinate comments before issuing to home office.
- Attend and answer technical questions from Yard that does not need attention from the project offices and follow up with Project if needed attention from them
- Organise and communicate the need for technical review meetings between Yard, the project organisation and Commissioning engineers
- Track and update FAT plans based on purchase plans and submit to yards in time as per contract This is about making sure that the customer receives and understands the FAT plan and to understand and communicate to Project if the customer plans to attend or not.
- Follow up with yards on Payment milestones as per contract and VOR`s as well as follow up any special request from Project controller and PM regarding payments, L/C etc
- Closely observe the purchasing plan and track shipments / delivery of equipment to the yards as well as organise and support the goods receipt and unpacking at Yard.
- Assist PM and actively follow up towards the yards to gather realistic construction plan and requirement date of different equipment at the yard and detailing the shipment plans
- Identify and inform the PM of any foreseen Risks and build up good relationship with yards to identify Opportunities
- Coordinate with PM regarding the plan and forecasting the costs required for clearing the punch (Manage punch list/ carry over work list is the task of the site team).
- Involve from the start of the project until hand over.
- Attend Project meetings and Design review / P&ID review etc
- Follow up of local suppliers based on the project's need (which is not falling under QC scope but on expediting side). This is only required in case project faces any challenges and needs any support with local communication with supplier.
- Assist/ support, provide useful inputs to Purchase team and Project team, if requested, to build up purchasing capability locally in Korea and China that do not need to be purchased in and shipped from Europe.
- Participate in the development of Wärtsilä's tools and procedures for Project execution.
- Longer term ambition: Take over as PM in the final stage of the project when all equipment and drawings are delivered to yard.
