ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Engineered Polymers Process Technology (PT) team has an opening for a Process Technology Engineer. You will drive the advancement of Estane business objectives by overseeing the transition of new product developments into commercial production. Innovate and implement Lubrizol's Most Effective Technology (MET) to enhance our processes. Utilize Process Technology to achieve continuous improvements in the Estane TPU manufacturing operations in APAC
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Champion the Estane business strategy by executing regional initiatives under the Estane TPU Business Technology Plan (BTP), utilizing the Lubrizol stage-gate model (PPMP) and managing the scale-up to Manufacturing Authorization (MA) process.
- Define and implement Most Effective Technology (MET) for Estane TPU manufacturing, driving activities to pioneer innovative manufacturing technologies.
- Spearhead productivity enhanced initiatives to improve the manufacturing process and deliver enhanced safety, increased productivity, and reduced costs.
- Assume a technology leadership role and apply extensive process and technology expertise to serve as a change agent, promoting best practices and technology improvements, and providing guidance and direction to manufacturing engineers in APAC.
- Lead, execute and support TPU products development, products scale up, process capability improvements, and new raw material evaluation projects.
- Collaborate with multifunctional project teams of scientists, engineers, account managers, and product management to deliver successful scale up on new and existing products.
- Design, execute, analyze, and report (both written and verbal) on multiple, simultaneous complex projects within pilot plant and commercial scale manufacturing.
- Coordinate and consult on new capital projects as needed and align with the 5-year capital plan and coordinate with Global ManTech and Operations.
- Design experiments and analyze data from both the laboratory and pilot plant.
- Work with external Tollers/3PM (third party mfg. for scale up and development of MET and other process innovations.
- Continuously improve processes and capabilities by enhancing workflow and challenging the status quo for more efficient product scale up, operations, and quick customer response.
- Comply with all applicable internal and external Lubrizol HSE policies.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
- Batchelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, or Polymer Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Chemical or Polymer industry.
- Demonstrated success in delivering technology enhancements and process optimizations.
- Strategic vision for establishing and capitalizing on process optimization opportunities.
- Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills, with fluency in English.
- Competent in interacting effectively across all organizational levels and departments, both locally and globally.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and objectives effectively.
- Strong skills in planning, organization, and presentation.
- Effective influencing skills and a commitment to driving change.
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Power Bi and MS Fabric
- Experience in applying statistical analysis (preferred) using Minitab, Statgraphics , or JMP.
- Ability to leverage knowledge of component chemistry in manufacturing processes.
- Experience with process control systems and automation, including PLC and DCS.
- Flexible to attend occasional off-hour meetings with global team members.
- Willingness to travel regionally in the APAC region.
