Job purpose
Trader will give accurate and timely RFQ, PGM price hedging and FX hedging to minimize trading risk based on market situation and customer request. Trader will also gain benefits through trading operations based on the understanding of market information and trading strategy.
Principle accountabilities
a. Endur Trading System
Front office operations of daily deals inputs in PMM China trading system with accuracy in a timely manner.
Ensuring daily EOD task run successfully and send APM/PnL report.
Supporting trading system upgrade.
b. New financial platform introduction & New project participation
Involve in external banks on new counterparty.
Bank trading system integration with JM trading system and operation optimization.
c. Metal Dealing
Following market situation and PMM sourcing & pricing guidance, enquiring about real-time PGM prices
from domestic & overseas market and making quotations & price fixing for intergroup BUs.
Make daily price records based on supplier quotations to understand historical price movement and market supply and demand.
d. Trading Position
Support for trading director/manager on right decision-making for trading position conduct in daily work via related data collection and PGM market situation analysis through focusing on global economics and politics.
Closely working with team on trading position dealing to create added value for JM.
e. Others
Pricing model development and refining pricing model maintenance based on business request.
Support line manager to complete PMM CN monthly report each end of month.
KPIs
Help PMM CN and PMM Global realize yearly trading PAMI budget.
Monthly trading report submitted in month-end.
Ensure to maximize hedging profit as possible as could.
Scope
• The Trader will interact with counterparts in China (banks/2nd refiners/traders), as well as multinationals with operations within China.
• The Trader is authorized to hold intraday positions of buffer stock (hedged) and borrow/lease.
• Due to the high-risk nature of the job, Group controls and policies must be adhered to. The Trader holds a high degree of autonomy in terms of their daily operations but must operate within the control limits (Group control policy and Senior Management oversight).
Qualifications/ knowledge/ experience
Major in economics, mathematics, finance and banking, computer science/statistics, or related business field, university degree, overseas education background is preferred
Minimum 1~2years experience in a Trading role in commodity/precious metal industry or banks
Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
Ability to work accurately under pressure
Having supply chain management knowledge and excellent IT skills are preferred
Personal skills and key competencies
Good command of both written and oral English
Good knowledge and skill of computer and data analysis, familiar with Endur system is preferable
Good interpersonal and presentation skills
Familiar with precious metal dealing procedure, regulation and guidelines in deal with good background on financial market
Solid business, communication and negotiating skills
