- 1.With some guidance from Engineering Manager, develop new twinax product designs and manage product extensions.
- 2.Ownership of critical path technology items - plans and oversees progress of projects against schedules.
- 3.Coordinate with external suppliers on twinax design, support site visits and audits, and twinax evaluation
- 4.Interface with Molex Production plants and twinax supplier on twinax improvements, quality issues, performance, and design.
- 5.Interface with Molex Sales teams and customers, create presentations outlining twinax performance and metrics.
- 6.Create 3-D models and drawings for twinax products.
- 7.Test and Evaluate twinax products from various suppliers. Dimensional and Electrical analysis.
- 8.Provide model/drawing support for tooling design and development for taping & cabling manufacturing lines (folding tools, closing dies)
- 9.Raw material evaluation and development.
- 10.Support marketing/sales with product proposals, samples and technical literature.
- 11.Participates in design review meetings.
- 12.Provide technical direction for twinax manufacturing processes when necessary for facilities located in GDL and PHL.
- 13.Understand, support and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.
- 14.Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years engineering experience.
- Some minimal experience with laboratory test equipment
- Some experience with wire and cable or cable assembly products
- English Speaking
- CAD experience required.
- Demonstrate competency in ASME Y14.5 GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skill.
- Demonstrated ability to arrive at sound design solutions.
- Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams and external customers.
- Good written and verbal skills for clear and concise communication.
- Good knowledge of wire and cable extrusion process
- Good knowledge of materials used in the wire and cable manufacturing process (dielectrics, foil tapes, mylars, wire)
- Travel is required.
