A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Lead finished goods planning, from forecast translation to production plan execution and delivery, ensuring market demand is met with balanced production.
- Plans, prepares, issues, and controls production schedules and directs material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of raw and approved finished goods materials timed to meet production requirements.
- Manage material procurement and collaborate closely with vendors, warehouses, and customs to ensure OTIF delivery and inventory visibility.
- Analyze production-related activities, including capacity, operational efficiency, inventory control, planning, freight handling, import/export operations, warehouse management, quality processes, project management, and financial impact, to identify opportunities and potential risks, and provide insights for factory operations, driving cost control and performance improvement.
- Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, inventory levels, and potential production or material supply disruptions to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided on-time and at an optimal cost.
- Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests/purchase orders for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements.
- Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, demand planning, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers, and requests for shipping orders.
SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM: Typically an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering and overseeing the projects – from design to implementation - while and adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education.

Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
May have practical knowledge of project management.
Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
