Team Summary
Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) is the consulting arm of Visa, and drives tangible, impactful results for clients. Drawing on our expertise in consulting, data analytics, digital marketing and economics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients.
The VCA team within China provides a comprehensive range of consulting services and solutions to our clients in Japan, that address unique challenges in areas such as strategic growth, profitability, risk management and digital strategy.
What a Client Consulting Analyst does at Visa:
This is a Analyst role mainly supporting VCA projects, working on-site with clients to analyze credit cardholder data, generate actionable insights, and influence client strategies to drive business growth. The role contributes to strengthening client relationships and supports Visa’s core business objectives in the market by delivering data-driven recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide on-site analytical support for VCA consulting engagements, including extracting, cleaning, and analyzing data to uncover trends, opportunities, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
Generate actionable insights from data analysis to influence client business decisions, optimize performance, and support strategic initiatives aligned with Visa’s growth priorities.
Support client presentations by translating complex analytical findings into clear, business-oriented recommendations and visualizations for stakeholders.

Qualifications
What you will need
1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field
2. Over 3 years of proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role
3. Proficiency in SQL/Python/R for data extraction and manipulation
4. Solid experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar
5. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
6. Excellent communication skills to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
What will also help:
- Experience in payments, the retail banking industry
- PMP certification
- Experience in customer experience design (using human-centered design / design thinking)
- An understanding of statistical analysis, modelling, scoring schemes, etc.
